Burnham must be shitting bricks.
Re: Reform Thread
To me, this one is much more worrying. A candidate who obviously knows naff all about his party's policies. It's staggering how unprepared he is, a would be MP.
Plus, who rocks up for an interview in an adidas t-shirt?

99% of their candidates are like this, just fans of Nidge and his send the burgers back rhetoric, imagine if Reform actually won the GE, these people would be running education, transport, health, military etc.Jaguar wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 12:14To me, this one is much more worrying. Re: Reform Thread
Not really. Civil servants and senior people who work in these sectors would be, as they they do now. But, yeah, I know what you mean, the thought of having such people in power is chilling.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 12:2999% of their candidates are like this, just fans of Nidge and his send the burgers back rhetoric, imagine if Reform actually won the GE, these people would be running education, transport, health, military etc.Jaguar wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 12:14To me, this one is much more worrying. This reminds me of a thread a few weeks ago where I argued that professional politicians - whetever we think of them - will generally do a better job of running the country than big Dave off the tools. Ned had a right go at me saying if you can build a house you can be a politician (I might be exaggerating but along those lines).
Anyway, this guy has got to be Andy Burnham's biggest asset!

Mind you, the Greens are as bad. Look at this young woman who got elected in Denton and Gorton, even worse - she's a pretend plumber (!) - and a party led by an alienated Lib Dem councillor, failed actor and would-be tit hypontist.
Leaving that aside, Reform would've been much better putting Matt Goodwin (their previous candidate) in against Burnham. He knows his stuff and comes over well whatever you think of his politics. Or even just a local solicitor or someone who can at least speak and look presentable.
The state of politics is dire.

Another things that pisses me off about this particular fella is his constant playing the working class card, he's a self employed gas safe heating engineer, the highest paid tradie there is, up north the going rate is £450 plus for a days graft, probably on more than most solicitors and accountants.Jaguar wrote: ↑30 May 2026, 12:14To me, this one is much more worrying. Have you seen the Restore candidate?
She was talking about the increased traffic in Makerfield. Apparently, there was so much traffic when she was driving that she had to 'turnaround and try a different way. Twice'.
And what causes this traffic in Makerfield? Immigration, obviously.
The immigrant population of Makerfield, of you're wondering, is about 2%

Restore are the best thing that has happened to help keep Farridge out, so they are all right in my book.Lenny Cravats wrote: ↑31 May 2026, 02:52Have you seen the Restore candidate?

Tell you who isn't winning, this Moron
I caught some of question time too, he's bloody woeful, can't communicate, terribly uncomfortable infront of the camera and has the charisma of one of Ricky's turd pics.

In what sense? I thought Reform would win ashton in makerfield a while back, he's such a poor candidate with such baggage I'm confident they won't know. I think he'll more than likely step down in the next few weeks, he's not built for it.

It's always been in the bag for Burnham despite what Fraymondo and the media were saying, which means Starmer is out by Christmas latestNightmare Roy wrote: ↑05 Jun 2026, 09:39In what sense?
