I don't want to lose the spirit of Usyk.
He seems like a solid core real boxer and person, I'm huge fan of his
Giving up the belts is honourable and Oleksandr truely understands boxing and how it works today.
At any given moment up until Usyk retires or is past his best, he's in a position to call out any of the future Heavyweight Champions for a fight and they gotta take it.
If in the spirit of boxing if Usyk gives up the belts, it's not a big ask for him to challenge for one of them in the future.

Usyk will TKO Deontay Wilder and in doing so, become the last heavyweight champion to retire underrated since Rocky Marciano. This is no small feat.

Deontay Wilder has been one of the most recognizable heavyweights of the last decade-plus. From 2015 to around 2025, he was consistently viewed as a top name — somewhere between 3rd and 10th best in the division during his prime years.

Usyk’s technical mastery, ring IQ, footwork, and southpaw angles should allow him to break Wilder down methodically and finish him in the mid to late rounds. I call a TKO win in 8 rounds. It’s a legacy building win in America against a household name. Usyk has already beaten the best UK fighters,

Oleksandr Uysk is not the Heavyweight Champion anymore 'he has vacated all of his titles. Rocky Marciano never vacated any of his titles, and just like Lennox Lewis? At the time of his retirement he was still the Heavyweight Champion'.

Note: I understand that Oleksandr Uysk still has the Lineal Ring Magazine title 'but really? The Lineal title, has not been a real title for many decades. It is a made up title. That in my opinion is just for the look'.

Tyson Fury disappeared after he beat Wladimir Kiltschko 'and he refused to take a rematch. Unfortunately due to his then circumstance'.

Anthony Joshua then stepped up, and beat the version of Wladimir Kiltschko who Tyson Fury should have fought in their scheduled rematch. Fury after that point should not have been considered the Lineal Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion'.

So the point I am making, yes? Oleksandr Uysk may retire undefeated 'but he will not be the undefeated Heavyweight Champion. He has voluntary vacated his heavyweight titles, and decided not to defend them' etc.

He’s still the ‘man who beat the man’

As long as he ain’t retired.. if you wanna be top dog at HW: you gotta beat Usyk.

If he retires.. then we can have a consensus #1 vs #2 eventually.. then we get a new division king.

Not necessarily. After Lewis beat Briggs, he still went into the Holyfield fight as the B side. It was only when he beat Holyfield that he got recognition he desired.

There weren't multiple Title belts that existed that could possibly be vacated back in Marciano's time.

Tyson Fury remained lineal Heavyweight Champion from the moment he beat Wladimir Klitschko until the moment he lost to Oleksandr Usyk, just like George Foreman remained Lineal Champion from the moment he beat Moorer until the moment he lost to Briggs.

You can't strip of a man of the LIneal Title. You can only beat him for it.

Whether you see Usyk as the Heavyweight Champion anymore in his next fight or not doesn't really matter. Many Boxing purists will, and they'll be right.
