I literally don't want to hear another word about this fight. Another rumor. Another quote.

Sign the goddamn fight or Sign to fight someone else. Dramatic Negotiations are about as amusing as watching Paint Dry, and cause both fighters involved to come off looking like jackasses to the general public who don't really even deserve the opportunity they're being given.

Do you think if they were both pushing for it to be in the UK it would be more likely to happen?
Only if both were willing to fight for half the money, so no.
Half? You don't think that Turki stays at all if they both say UK only?
No idea. Isn't it Netflix who want it there? They won't take a penny less for the fans, it's all shite.

Frank~Warren on Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury: Make your mind up or move on!

As the long running saga over the proposed date and venue of the bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua appears to rumble on, promoter Frank~Warren has said: “Everyone’s got to make their mind up. Otherwise, move on.”

The International Boxing Hall of Fame promoter still believes the Netflix bout will wind up in New York, and told a group of journalists Wednesday: “If it happens, I think it’ll happen in November, early November. I think it’s all probability of being in the States.

“And Tyson, to that effect, went over the weekend to Miami, which is where he’s training. And he’s training to fight. So one way or another, he’s going to fight in November. Hopefully it’s against AJ.”
Asked whether there would be a time limit on a decision, Warren replied: “I shouldn’t think they go past the end of next week.”

And Warren has seen big fights happen in surprising locations before, and he also knows the business-side of the sport well enough to know that, historically, the fight goes where the most money is.

“They’re putting up the money,” Warren said of Netflix.

“Look, you think of all the iconic fights of years and years ago. Great fights, the Thrilla in Manila. Two Americans went to Manila, had a great first fight, Ali and Frazier [went to the Philippines for their trilogy bout]. Everybody wanted that fight. Vegas wanted that fight. New York wanted it. Why did it wind up in Manila? Because somebody put the money up for it to go there.

“Rumble in the Jungle. Who didn’t want to see Ali against Foreman? What a hot fight that was. Where did it wind up? In Zaire. Vegas wanted it again. So did Madison Square Garden. All the networks wanted it. But it went there. Why? Because that’s where they got their money. Dear old Joe Bugner, our man at the time, he wound up fighting in Kuala Lumpur against Ali. Why? Because they put the money up.

“This is nothing unusual. I mean, do I want… should it be in Wembley? Of course it should be in Wembley. But at the end of the day, they’re getting punched in the head. They’re old guys. They’re not young heavyweights. I mean, they’re old guys as far as boxing’s concerned. They’re getting a truckload of money. Get it on or don’t get it on.

“Wherever it takes place, you can watch it. You know, the people who watched those fights I was talking about, they went to cinemas in London. That’s all that showed those fights. They weren’t anywhere else. About 1,500-to-2,000 people watched it live. The rest had to wait for a showing later on, or a couple of days later, whenever it was.

“In those days, TV went off the air. That’s how long they waited. At least in this day and age, you can watch it live.”

But there are, of course, issues, between the powerbrokers hoping to stage the fight and Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn and Joshua, who signed their contract to fight Fury in London, and still want the fight to take place there.
“Eddie’s come out and said what he said and what they want and so on,” Warren added.

“Some of that stuff, flights and tickets, they’re not even an issue. I don’t know what the monetary situation is, but whatever it is, everyone’s got to make their mind up. Otherwise, move on… The fights are either going to happen or not. I think it will happen. If it doesn't, and I think there’s a time limit on it, by the way, if it doesn’t happen, then there will be one of those fights that slip by.”
Warren was then asked whether he felt Joshua did still want the fight.

Hearn, to his point, says Joshua is desperate for it, in England.

“I mean, look, he had a hard fight last time, didn’t he?” Warren said of Joshua’s two-round bout with Kristian Prenga.

“He came through at the end, but he did have a hard fight. Does he want it? He’s the only one who knows that. He says he does…

“And they did sign. They’re quite right. They signed for a contract for the fight to take place in the UK. Tyson didn’t sign up for America, but Tyson is willing to, and has said he just wants the fight. Just get it on. Get, in his words, get all this politics and all his crap out of the way. Let’s get the fight on.”

No change, no deal: The wait continues for Joshua-Fury

Consider it boxing’s most important face-off of the year.

With no response from his signed addendum nearly a week after he sent it off to Saudi Arabia boxing financier Turki Alalshikh, Anthony Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn is sticking to his guns for the super-fight against fellow two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

“As of now, we expect the fight to take place in the U.K., as per the contract,” Hearn told Boxing Scene Wednesday.

Late last week, responding to allegations Hearn was stalling the proposed move of Joshua-Fury to November 20 at Madison Square Garden over payments owed for snooker and darts competitions, the promoter clarified he instead was requesting that Joshua be paid his full purse from his July knockout of Kristian Prenga and that ticketing, security and other standard contractual agreements be shored up.

“No change,” Hearn said in regard to what movement has occurred since the addendum was sent.

Since Alalshikh has entered boxing, at least one other boxer’s representative complained to Boxing Scene of not being paid on fight night, later acknowledging the contract stipulated the funds could arrive at a later date within 45 days of the bout.

In Joshua’s case, Boxing Scene has learned the purse money was due on fight night.

So, as Fury and his promoter allegedly have pleaded for the sides to finalize the deal, the wait continues.

Sick off it all now , I'm actually hoping that TutTut , pulls the plug, can't see how or why these two are worth what there getting , pulling the plug would teach them both a lesson ,because theres no way will they get the same money to fight anyone else and i saY GOOD .

Who's to blame well defo the Hearn AJ camp , unless theres what i would call a genuine reason , which would be , AJ recieving less because its been moved ,. and Fury recieving money from netflix on the side to square up any loss , , but thats not been spoke or mentioned , so thats just me spreading rumors with no substance behind it , becase thats the only reason i would excuse AJ for pulling out , he should.nt take one dollar less than Fury in any way shape or form .

Regardles ,how many times have we heard Hearn say ,. AJ IS THE BOSS , whats more i believe that ,, at the moment i think Hearn is just ready o earn his keep by taking critism and making the excuses , facts are if AJ wants it , Hearn will not have a say in it

Something along those lines has been stated Coneye.

AJ is effectively seeing his already agreed purse reduced because of different US tax laws.

I see it very differently to you. Team AJ just want what they have already agreed.

Fury will just do what Turki wants because he sees him as a sugar daddy.

Spencer Brown said in an interview that all parties said to the Brits that they would step aside and they could put it on themselves if they wanted. Spencer said his pockets weren't deep enough. Can't AJ and Matchroom take a cut to get it on at Wembley?

It won't be on Netflix if Eddie or Fwank are promoting it.

I want the fight at Wembley, you want the fight at Wembley, it's signed to happen at Wembley, if all parties are prepared to step aside, then that also means Netflix. Matchroom and Queensbury should co-promote and put it on DAZN PPV/Unlimited.

But they won't, will they? Any of them. It will be announced for MSG.
It's literally only signed on one contract to be at Wembley. You need two to fight. If you're more focused on the fight taking place at Wembley than taking place at all, then you're a Femi fan, not a boxing fan.

I'm a boxing fan, I think that's clear, but I also want to go to the fight and I won't be able to get the time off to go to America, I'm selfish, I want the fight at Wembley and a PM ring walk. Didn't you say you want the fight at Wembley?

Yes, but I'm realistic enough to know that's not going to happen. I thought Boxrec'ers had always said they're not bothered who gets what or who promotes who. They just want to see the fights. On this one everyone has developed outrage for a guy who's mainly fought abroad for years, through choice, having to fight abroad.

I'm not outraged, I just want possibly the biggest fight in British history to take place in Britain. If it happens in the US, it'll be a damn shame. You're determined to throw AJ under the steamroller at every possible opportunity.

He he wants the fight in the UK, you want the fight in the UK. If anything, you should be siding with him.

What will that achieve? Really? I don't even believe they want it here THAT badly. We will see. If it takes place in America, they were obviously using the situation to wring more money out of it.

No. They are all to blame if it takes place abroad, but ultimately, as said on here countless times, the buck stops with the fighter. If Femi is being genuine, the fight will not happen in America. Simple.

Bit of a slippery slope argument BUT If one of the biggest fights in recent British boxing history involving two Brits is conducted outside of Britain... expect that to continue

I would prefer that not to happen, so this fight falling through may not be the worst thing ever

Inoue is a good example of a top fighter representing the interests of his home fans. He didn't sell out the fans to stage the Nakatani fight abroad

That's the point, the PED cheat hasn't said anything. If he actually gave a toss about his loyal fans (you) he'd be shouting from the rooftops that he wants the fight in the UK.

I doubt either man gives much of a toss about his British fans. Let them fight in MSG. Historic venue, start time over here won't be too painful, fight doesn't matter that much anymore anyway. Eliminator to decide who gets demolished by Kabayel.

Wonder if the venue will be as traumatic for AJ as his last appearance there?
