Ok this is the spiel (I assume the back cover) for Smith’s book:

Richard, Rick, Ricky - more like a Rocky story which led to a rollercoaster of fabulous nights, taking a down-to-earth lad from Hyde to Vegas and into the Boxing Hall of Fame. With those spine-tingling Blue Moon ring walks, and rip-roaring action, Richard Hatton MBE was both a sporting icon and a working-class hero.'

As 'The Voice of Boxing' delivered Ricky Hatton's eulogy, Adam Smith's opening words echoed through Manchester Cathedral and across the country. Ricky Hatton's death stunned the world in a way few sporting losses ever have. Tribute after tribute poured in, from the lads on the estates to the A-listers on the red carpets. Everybody loved Ricky. Everybody felt they had lost someone who belonged to them. Ricky Hatton was their voice, their joy, their fighter.

Written with the support of Ricky's friends and family, Adam Smith tells his extraordinary story in full. From Ricky's early career highlights and his iconic Blue Moon ring walks to his title bouts and fight nights in Las Vegas, as well as his struggles after retirement, his life is captured in vivid detail. Adam was one of Ricky's closest friends and was with him from the very beginning - at ringside, backstage, in bars, cars, takeaways and late-night hotel corridors, through all the triumphs, meltdowns, laughter, heartbreak and healing. He writes movingly about how it was Ricky who helped him through his own battle with cancer, providing him with the strength and support he needed to recover. Adam didn't just tell Ricky's story on television, he lived it with him. His laugh. His energy. His compassion. His heart.

All of it lives on in these pages
.

Was Adam Smith really one of Ricky’s best friends? This preface or whatever suggests Smith was Hatton’s best mate from schoolboy days…. That he was like a brother to him… Does it mention Smith sacked Hatton from Sky after using him as his best man at his wedding 2 weeks previously? This text must be written by Smith himself, and predictably, even though it’s meant to be a book about Ricky, the book summary is about Smith himself… as predicted…. He really couldn’t wait to make a book about Hatton and himself, published barely a year after the Hitman’s passing. So he must’ve started working on it soon after. And I see the book has the family’s blessing… I can see smith harassing the Hatton family for his book whilst they’re still grieving. What a low life.

I would guess mum and dad. Probably wanted a cut of profit too.

Smith also boasts that he will look after Campbell and Hatton’s other kids for life. Yeah right.

You don't have to like Adam Smith's commentary, you just need to learn to love it.

Thank you Confucius. Although TBH the main reason I’m gonna watch the Katie Taylor fight is purely to see how awful Smith’s commentary is

Haha. I learned that phrase from a guy I know who used to be a bouncer. He was a military police officer, a mountain of a man and once he subdued the drunk, he'd walk them out and say, "You don't have to like it, you just need to learn to love it."

I'm on the lash and not watching the Taylor event

How is Smith's form? Dramatic growl and over indulgent waffle or a bearable start with clear signs of degeneration to come?

Because it’s the Ring card, there’s a chance he MAY NOT be there.

Might be Mike Copp and a few Americans
