Dubois would stop him easily.
Nothing in his punches.
But plenty in his technique, an iron chin and skills to control the fight.
Hrgovic has all of that and solid fundamentals.
But he's pushing his chin too much.

Had the Dubois v Hrgovic fight continued, it would not have been pretty at all for Hrg. I think that’s clear.

This rematch was a waste of time.
Just like Joyce rematching zhang or price rematching thompson.

From the moment warren announced it it was a ridiculous farce.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this sorry night of boxing

I’d also prefer Dubois - Kabayel to Dubois - Hrgovic.

That way round we get to see a new fight & Hrgovic gets his homecoming.

Hrgovic can get the winner.
If Dubois wants to be the man, needs to take him on.
He does but he’s already beaten him so I’d rather see him fight Kabayel first
I meant kabayel

Talk about 'you're only as good as your last fight'. Sections of the media are making out that DDD is this invincible boxer, who cannot be beaten. He just beat a guy who he'd already beaten and the same guy that was easily outboxed for nine rounds by Justis Huni.

No, but your mum does. I worked a double shift.
Worst mum comeback ever.

I've now set you up to at least make some effort in a mum comment.
Mum comebacks always suck (just like your mum). I see no need to put extra effort in them to satisfy a dweeb online.

They have to sell him for the next fight.

And then the next one. As long as he can keep winning.. they will hype him

It was obvious that Wardley was inept but where else was he going to go. He made a good purse at least. He is going to be taking a shellacking against most opponents until he gets lucky with a windmill punch so he might as well take the biggest fight and get paid the most he can.

Held to a draw by Fraser Clarke too, I can't forget the Usyk 2 loss when he went up to that level

Been a while since I watched the fight but I recall Hrg was winning the fight versus Dubois handily until the gash.

I think he would fancy a rematch as he was hitting Dubs at will while he wasn't painted in red.

The way I remember it, Dubois was untroubled by anything Hrg threw at him, and was giving the big lump something of a hiding at the end.

after he'd headbutted him and cut his face open, but was still behind on the card. and Hrg still claims he was ill going into the fight too

There was a lot of bleating about Dubois’ head after that fight, he landed 2-3 at best, some folk didn’t seem to appreciate Dubois getting his chin to safety over Hrg’s shoulder, and any head contact in the clinch became a headbutt. It was and still is way exaggerated.

Tough guy Hrg may be in better shape for the rematch but he still has the same limitations. I believe Dubois would win the war and lay the matter firmly to rest.

If you're a British heavyweight with talent, stay away from Brain Damage Ben.

He's fornicating awful.
Moses Itauma has confirmed he’s sticking with Davidson moving forwards.

Terrible decision. How those close to Itauma, let alone Moses himself, can’t see the damage this coult do to his career.

Simply not physically right to be a high level pro boxer. Reminds me of a Temu Martin Concepción
They’re definitely paying Jones just to turn up on the night. Curtis is terrible. No way Jones doesn’t realise he’s poor. Honestly it frazzles the brain that anyone who knows anything about boxing would invest in him
Who is paying RJJ? And why?

The Curtis story is interesting. The kid turned pro in Mexico at 16 then fought in Dubai & Thailand before coming home to the UK.

So if he is so bad, who is the money behind him?

Well he’s not THAT bad but considering the hype he’s well short. I think he was flagged as a super talent as a kid, but he just doesn’t seem to have taken to the pro game against adults. He gets caught a lot.

Fabio Wardley advised to retire by Filip Hrgovic who promises to 'smash' Daniel Dubois

Fabio Wardley has been advised to retire by Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic, the IBF heavyweight titlist who was ringside in London to witness the Englishman being brushed aside in two rounds by WBO boss Daniel Dubois.

The rematch came five months after Wardley had suffered an extended beatdown at the hands of Dubois after their May slugfest grew increasingly one-sided until it was stopped in the 11th round.

Wardley, in the immediate aftermath of his second consecutive defeat, promised to rebuild and come back.

But plenty, including Hrgovic, are now wondering if retirement would be the wiser option. After all, Wardley has already overachieved when one considers he came from a white-collar background with no amateur experience to become WBO champion.

"I think [Wardley] should retire," Hrgovic told Boxing News. "He didn't look good [against Dubois in the rematch].

"He made a bunch of money, he did a miracle, and he became a world champion...

"[But] he should retire and enjoy [life]. I think Wardley was still damaged from the first fight.

"He didn’t look good from the first bell. I wasn’t impressed with him.”

Wardley scored two knockdowns in the first fight but was ultimately overpowered and left rocking and reeling during several rounds.

In the rematch, Wardley was dropped inside the first 20 seconds and was rescued, as he took flush shot after flush shot, in the next round.

Regardless, Hrgovic, despite losing to Dubois in 2024, fancies his chances against the Londoner.

"I’m the future undisputed champion,” Hrgovic said. “I will smash Dubois in a rematch, and I’m coming for the belts.”

According to his manager Keith Connolly, the Croatian will first engage in a homecoming bout against his mandatory, Frank Sanchez, in early 2027.

Fabio Wardley admits preparation for Daniel Dubois rematch 'wasn't ideal'

Following a brutal and one-sided rematch loss to Daniel Dubois, Fabio Wardley immediately voiced his desire to fight again while admitting his preparation this time “wasn’t ideal”.

The contest came five months after their hellacious first encounter in which Dubois, after being dropped twice in the opening three rounds, steadily pounded the resistance from his rival. The beating Wardley took back then – bloodied and bruised, he was unsteady on his feet for several rounds before the end came in the 11th – left many questioning if an immediate rematch was the right thing for Wardley to do.

Wardley, however, was determined to regain the WBO heavyweight title he’d lost. Financially, too, it would have made sense.

Dubois won the return in two rounds, dropping Wardley inside the first 20 seconds and administering a patient but clinical beating upon his rival. It was Wardley’s second consecutive defeat following a gruelling run of bouts that saw him come from behind to beat Justis Huni and Joseph Parker, after engaging in a hellacious back-and-forth 12-round draw with Frazer Clarke.

“You can really shorten it and say the preparation for me wasn’t ideal and Daniel learned the most from the first fight and came out with a better game plan,” Wardley, 20-2-1 (19 KOs), told DAZN as he made his way from the ring to the dressing room.

“That’s all it was if you want to boil it down to the nitty-gritties.

“But there’s time for that later when we go over it as a team, we sit down, and we go over the details of what happened.”

For Dubois, it’s onwards and upwards. The defeats to Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk (twice) appear to have served as crucial education. As well as the two victories over Wardley, he can also boast stoppages of Anthony Joshua and Filip Hrgovic.

Wardley can take encouragement from that.

“Right now, I lost,” he said. “It is what it is. Daniel’s a testament to losing and coming back and winning the world title for a second time.

“I will be looking to do the same thing.”
