Boxers who have died?
Here's a link to a document that lists all the recorded ring deaths since the 1700s. Notice that on May 5th 1800, two guys called Butts and Collins both died from injuries sustained by each other in their fight. They actually clobbered each other to death!

There was a world class lightweight /light welter in the 70's named Hector Thompson who had the misfortune of having 2 opponents die following fights with him. He was not a heavy hitter which made it a bit bizarre. Thompson went on to challenge Duran several years after the first death and he challenged Cervantes a couple of years after the second death
Boxers who have died
Lem Franklin, heavyweight, died in 1944 as a result of injuries caused by a knockout by Larry Lane

Chris Calvin/Shawn Thomas
The one that stands out for me was the ESPN fight in '85 where Chris Calvin knocked a Detroit fighter out named Shawn Thomas in the first and his head hit the ring floor. He died in the arena with his wife there watching. Very tragic. I remember it vividly.
