Well look at this clip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaigdKiO8Xc

and imagine Marciano or Dempsey there instead of Bidenko.
Yes that video does make an excellent point pundit. I truly believe that boxing talent is on the decline, and love the history of the sport, but size does matter. However, in most cases there has to be at least a remote similarity in talent for the size difference to have a great influence in the outcome. For example, while it’s very easy for me to envision Marciano beating Valuev, it’s much harder to envision the Rock beating Lewis.

I'd agree with that.

Jess Willard was better than Valuev, and Dempsey demolished him; as giants, I remember Ewart Potgieter (near of 330 lbs) or Ray Impellitière (270), and they could very easy defeated by strong boys as Dempsey or Rock
Willard was a circus strong man who entered boxing at a late age. He was succesful because he was so much bigger than everyone else. Thats it.

Ewart Portgieter? Ray Impellitiere? Gimme a break.
Williard worked on ranches pre-boxing . . he was not in a circus.

Please inform me of Valuev's extensive amateur background and early entry into boxing that would make his experience very different from Williards . . . .

Right you are. Forgive my brain fart, it was Primo that worked in a circus not Willard.
The rest of my point still stands. I was responding to a quote that Willard was better than Valuev. Willard was good because of his size, period. He toward over Johnson and Johnson was himself considered a giant in those days.
Today Johnson would be a small heavyweight.
Valuev is much bigger than Willard, so there goes Willards greatest asset. Valuev is also a considerible better boxer. Willards stance and the way he held his arms would get him laughed out the ring today.
