What constitutes to having your ass kicked harry greb?? Miranda wasn't kicking his ass...having a guy rocked, hurt and down a couple of times is an kicking ass in my book. Miranda was crude and basic and Abraham outboxed him more comprehensively AFTER he broke the jaw!

Abraham i think would be better than Sturm because of his power and physical strength, i don't think Sturm has the strength to handle the big Middleweights as he showed against Castillejo. Technically however i don't think there are many better at Sturm.

Abraham is a lot, lot better and harder to beat than people think, i haven't sparred him like Mr. Maxwell but i just get that impression, Abraham would beat Miranda in a rematch IMO. Pavlik will beat Miranda anyway so i don't know why i am worrying.

Anyone know if hes planning on coming out of his backyard to raise his profile in the US? (3 straight defences, all in germany)

Is his jaw healed & does he have a fight lined up, if so, who?

Amin Asikainen is IBF #5 and the only guy in the top 10 who looks likely (unless you can see Abraham/Winky, i cant)

How do you rate Abraham? Personally i think he outpointed Miranda, and i think hes too tough/good for Jermain Taylor. Think hes too strong for Winky too, for me Abraham looks the best middle in the world.

Agree or disagree, bitches? :box:
i rate abraham highly as a fighter.

good tight defence.

excellent counter puncher. :box:

can punch a bit to.

he outboxed miranda with his counters and thoroughly deserved the win. i agree that he's capable of beating taylor and winky.

very good fighter indeed. :TU:

i had it 7-2 abs after 9 rds.

abs lost the last 3 cos he was in agony from the broken jaw.

he'd win a rematch.

I think that Miranda will beat Pavlik - both exciting fighters should make this a cracking match up, but Miranda power to Pavlik's body will win the fight IMO.

Whatever the result, I just hope that this is an awesome fight!

I put King Arthur above Taylor. Taylor is overated and got a gift in the first Hopkins fight IMO.

Abraham should fight Miranda in the US. The winner has Taylor.

first of all 40 years in boxing in the ring, in the corner, as a reporter and, good heavens, an ARMCHAIR pundit must have taught me something about the sport.
miranda's beating up of AA, his smashing of his jaw, his making him quit (before his corner threw him back in) and then running from miranda for the remainder of the fight, FOR THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED FOLKS, makes me label this fight "an aaaaassss kicking".

i dont think AA will contribute much more to professional boxing inside the ropes (unless he becomes a referee) such was the deep and painful whupping he got that night.

gentlemen, your incensed replies please...

I agree, the puishment that Miranda inflicted on AA jaw was savage, but really how many other boxers could continue on with a busted jaw? I like Miranda and was very negative against AA until this fight, but he dug in and managed to go 12 rounds - he was a true warrior. Really Miranda should have stopped him, but the reality is, he didn't, and due to this fact I don't think that you can say he kicked his ass. At the end of the fight Miranda held up Abrahams arm - he knew the punishment he took and carried on.

I do hope that AA returns to the ring, but I think that if he does he wont be fighting Miranda in a hurry...

yes of course you are right. AA's effort was absolutely heroic to get to the end with such an injury and i raise my glass to him now as i did then. but, he was rewarded by being given the decision in a fight he did not win or at least he was not the better man on the night.
AA is a hell of a fighter not just brave but is extremely dangerous coming forward and hits hard. he is one of the foremost men in his division and yet miranda beat him convincingly in my view. the low blows apart which were not nice viewing.
my saying he "kicked AA's aaaassss" is partly due to a deserving winner getting plummed by dubious judging.

but we both agree that its questionable whether arthur will be the same guy from now on and that miranda is deffo not in his plans.

Why don't you watch cagefighting, as understanding boxing is obviously above your abilities.

You know what's going to happen?

In a couple of years' time, when Miranda has been well and truly shown up, Miranda is going to get a call to come back to Germany. He'll take it because it's an opportunity away from Friday Night Fights, which he will be stuck on fighting B level fights.

He'll go to Germany and get an absolute schooling from Abraham, in a fight that will be very big in Germany despite Miranda being somewhat faded.

I thought Abraham would box Miranda's ears off and so he did for a few rounds however Miranda still had his fair share and continues to improve. Very few thought Edison would actually outbox the superior boxer in Allan Green, that's exactly what he did as Green shit his pants after feeling the power. I really hope he beats Pavlik which may lead to a big fight with Taylor, if that doesn't come off then maybe he could go back to Germany and KO Sturm.

how do i know edison is not in AA's plans? because arthur is not as stupid as some on this thread. and i have no idea what "cagefighting" is. perhaps you are an expert, mr pundit. i hope so because you are certainly no judge of a professional boxing match.

He really didn't outbox him. Green just showed a lack of a gameplan or a lack of heart by not trying to let his hands go at all....

Well Miranda was landing more often with cleaner shots, set the pace. Yea Green showed a lack of fighting heart, I think he got intimidated after opening up and getting countered by those big rights. I don't believe that excuse about the veg diet and weight since he looked impressive against Bonsante at 162. He was just lucky that was only a ten rounder.

So who you got in Miranda/Pavlik?

I like Pavlik, add he has some good underdog odds on him as well (+180). I think Kelly, unlike Green, will give it his best. Somebody will be stopped in this fight......

Why should he do this? AA is the champ and Miranda has to fight in Germany. But with his behaviour he showed in the first fight Miranda doesn´t deserve any title-shot

i'm saying miranda kicked his aaassss. which is exactly how i saw the fight.
Learn the basics about boxing then before you comment.
And how to write in English.

Abraham is not 'my boy' Greb, neither is Miranda. Yeah i saw Miranda's uppercut caused a horrific injury, but that doesn't mean that he automatically is gifted the following 7 rds. I, and a lot of other people, saw Abraham stay away and box smart and win fair and square.

A lot of people like yourself who write in that highly articulate "Current Scene/WWF smackdown style" i.e. "yo boy got his aaaas beat man", "dude is gon' get KTFO" etc seem to be obsessed with big punchers and let that cloud their judgement.

I know who i feel more comfortable siding with.

Miranda is soon for the scrapheap. When he has been demolished by Pavlik, the Germans are going to invite him back. He'll go to Germany with cap in hand and get the mother of all schoolings. Then when he talks bollocks in future he'll be dismissed as all talk.

check my posts, mr overhand right - you'll see that i am able to use very contrasting literary styles to put my point across. one time i'll use the classic english boxing journo style, next i might utilise the nuyorkian ironic style, or temper it a little to achieve a Leibling effect. all these are the tools of my trade, but they are of no use unless i can wisely score a fight, the fundamental necessity of a boxing penman like myself. i can do it, plainly (and i refer to your off-beam summing up of abraham/miranda) you cannot.
