Consistent with either man's track record.
$5 million US is about £2.5 million pounds. Easily a career high purse for Calzaghe.

$3M PLUS TV rights, that was the offer that was reported. Gross? Palle expects Warren to pay their sanctioning fees too huh?pundit wrote:Sorry but it was $3m gross OR (miniscule) TV rights.lvlarc wrote:Whilst $5M will probably be a career high payday for Calzaghe. $3M (plus TV rights)

The best would be an open purse bid.

The best would be an open purse bid.Regardless, it was still a career high payday for Kessler which got turned down so quit putting all the blame on Calzaghe's camp for this fight not materializing.
Of course I put all the blame on Calzaghe's camp. They are the ones who obviously don't want the fight.
For starters, it would be nice if Calzaghe himself would come out andsay "I want Kessler and have asked Fran to make that fight"
Well its more informed than your shot in the dark that Calzaghe made close to $5 million fighting Manfredo. Nob.Taki... wrote:You 'read somwhere'! Well that's that settled then. If it will be held in Denmark it will be on a Palm Promotion card, Palle is restricted of a TV contract + Palm is filthy rich and have plenty of money to secure the fight.Final Fight wrote:That's what it always comes down to. allegedly allegedly allegedly isn't going to make anything on this deal, other than his 25% managers cut, which amounts to a fairly tidy sum I suppose.
Has Palle really got the money to make that offer? How much would he be paying Kessler.
I really am getting absolutely sick and tired of the endless waffle surrounding boxing. I hope that Oscar and Floyd put on a show, and the Hatton fight is good, because I feel myself becoming very jaded indeed.
the fWanker is throat fvcking British boxing. He can't put on a fight unless he can take over the OTHER guy's career in case the challenger wins. Madness. I hope every media outlet has the balls to chastise the fWankstain.
Anyway, this is straying off the subject. I hear that he's in intensive (delusional, disappointing) negotiations with Roy Jones Jr.
I don't think Palle has as much clout as he lets on. Let's not forget that Palm Promotions helped out Team Palle to take the promotion away from Golden Boy Promotions.
No need for nastiness. Cock.nickd wrote:Well its more informed than your shot in the dark that Calzaghe made close to $5 million fighting Manfredo. Nob.Taki... wrote:You 'read somwhere'! When the fight is made and Kessler is defeated, I am coming after pundit specifically.
Joe could beat Kessler, Taylor and Hopkins in a row and you would find a way to discredit those accomplishments in full.
well, make sure you let your feelings known via Frank's website.pundit wrote:Do we expect anything else?nickd wrote:Roy Jones' corpse would be a pathetic choice of opponent.
It makes you yearn for Glen Johnson, does this.
But nonetheless, it's a (financial) reality. Albeit a bleak one. Calzaghe gained himself a certain stature beating Lacy and Manfredo. Because of that he can take celebrity/old man fights in the grand US tradition.

So it's obvious you don't understand logic?pundit wrote:Ah!Max Molyneux wrote:Pundit the pound/dollar thing Is Irrelevant really, I mentioned It because I find It weird that they're offering an offer In dollars to a person who doesn't even live In America.![]()
That's obvious.I see you still misread my posts and that you don't understand Logic.
Warren made a joke offer which by logic implies that he does not want the fight. If Warren made an offer than by logic he wants the fight.
He has done so often before.
It's certainly much better than Warren's offer. If Warren can generate more money -- make a counter-offer.Just because Palle says 5 million doesn't make It a good offer straight away. Sorry, but your no promoter or fighter to say whether It's ok to take. You see 5 million and Instantly assume It's good.
You tell me. Since Warren's fights never go to purse bids (a consequence of Joe carrying around the WBO "belt" that comes without mandatories, independently appointed referees, and transparent purse bids) we can only guess.Joe might lose on Tv revenue or ticket sales. How much did Joe get for Manfredo?
Otherwise, see above.
3 million dollars Is hardly a joke offer. He made an offer and by logic he has shown he wants the fight.
5 millions high too but Joe might lose out of TV revenue and other things like ticket sales and like James said Warren wouldn't be making money other than a managers fee.

It's flawed logic, because the offer isn't a realistic one and he knows quite well that it wouldn't be accepted. I could offer Thierry Henry a tenner to play for my local team, and as a result I want him to play. The fact that Thierry would tell me where to go is another matter entirely.Max Molyneux wrote: 3 million dollars Is hardly a joke offer. He made an offer and by logic he has shown he wants the fight.
Same scenario here. The real logic would be to make a realistic offer to show the fight is one which he really wants.
Thing is, Kessler is willing to travel to further his career. All the way to Australia. He did this with the very tricky Mundine. He did it with a bad back and won a hard fight. Why can't he do it again, sans bad back?
Just a thought.
Kessler's a top guy and we like the way he does things. But he's not quite the #1 yet. There are some inconsistencies with Kessler. He calls Joe out after defending his title yet is unavailable in July.

Seriously I'd like to know how $3 million Is unrealistic.
Theres no flawed logis at all he made an offer which means he's shown Interest and not ducked like Pundit's assumptions.

Put it this way for starters, if my fighter was getting offered $3 million, whilst another fighter was getting offered $4 million, do you think I'd accept the $3 million? Would that be 'logical'?

Errm, my post on logic was towards Pundit thinking 3 million Is a joke and saying that he's ducking Palle just because he offered It.PompeyScot wrote:Jesus, you're like stuck record.Max Molyneux wrote:PompeyScot wrote: It's flawed logic, because the offer isn't a realistic one and he knows quite well that it wouldn't be accepted. Even If the offers low by logic he's not ducking anyone.
Whos the one whos really stuck? I'd say It's Pundit.
I like to be civil but alot of people refuse to be.
