There are too many to go over.
Among my picks.
Leonard v Hagler.
Reason ... Ray picked Marvin off from start to finish.
Hagler was slightly passed his prime but still good.
Ray did everything,he jabbed, right handed ,body punched and stood toe to toe scrapping it out when he had to.
Holyfield v Bowe 2.
Considering how big Riddick was Holyfield did an incredible job.
Evander took some huge shots that would knockout many other boxers.
Holyfields will to win was a god given gift.
It took plenty out of Holyfield and it was close.
But that drive was incredible to witness.
Hagler v Hearns.
This one sells itself.
When you look back at it now, obviously it doesn't have the same feeling it did at the time.
But at the time the boxing world was frozen at what was going on.
If there was ever a fight that lived up to the hype this was it
Leonard v Hearns 1.
You hardly ever see a match up like this anymore.
Both boxers were young and deadly and both went on to greater things.
An absolutely perfect fight.
It had it all, boxing, punching with a sway on the cards right up to the death.
This is a fight every gym should have the up and comers watch at some point.
Morales v Barrera 1.
I was there for this one.
We all know it by now.
Can't believe I witnessed what I did.
It is well documented and could be a top 3 bout of the last 25 years when all is considered.
Jones v Pazienza.
Personal pick I suppose.
The Roy Jones that night could have beaten almost anyone in the sport at that time.
That took boxing to a new level altogether.
Jones Jr around that time elevated the skill level to a new dimension.
Toney v Jirov.
Jirov just kept coming and coming.
Toney ressurected his boxing career in one of the harshest battles I have seen.
The last few rounds were something out of a movie, great matchup and well fought on both sides.
Lewis v Jackson.
Strange pick I know.
But Lennox Lewis was being treated very unfairly by the American media and put on an absolute clinic that night.
Round 1
Lampley put his foot right in it but saying Lewis pawed with his jab in the first round.
Lewis pawed with his jab then threw a right hand and knocked Jackson down a second later.
It was so funny, yet the American media continued to back Bowe over Lewis untill Lennox KO'd Golota.
One of the biggest mistakes the American boxing community ever made,
Watson v Benn.
Under the tent
Boxer v Puncher
North London v East London.
It was electric.
Some remember the Benn v Eubank bouts.
I prefered this one.
It was just a come on I'll see you outside type of fight.
Again another personal pick for me.
Curry v McCrory.
Don Curry for me at one point was the best fighter in the world.
The way he destroyed McCrory like that is just something that will allways stick in my mind for some reason.
Of course there are many many other bouts .
But off the top of my head those are among the one I remember.
