Barney won 116-111 on Reg Thompson's scorecard, 114-113 on Carl Rogers while Tony Walker had it 114-113.

Ok ... so it was a split decision, not a majority decision.

I'm surprised by this. Did Oakey look that bad, or was Barney better than expected?

It was a diabolical fight, with Barney incorporating a jab, and grab technique, and Oakey incorporating a being jabbed, and being grabbed technique.
Poor fight. No rematch please.

Agree with Twinkle Toes, a perfect example of styles NOT making fights. Oakey threw haybalers which were missing by a mile, Barney countered but not very effectively.
Its a shame because both have something to offer the sport, just not in the same ting.
