Bear in mind the 25% to his manager, (his dad in his case though), his trainer's fee, which i think is 10% as standard isn't it? Tax is 40%, I guess that's after the prior deduction, training fees for sparring partners, massage, paying Kerry Kayes (flat fee, percentage, who knows), other associated costs.
I'd say 6 million sounds about right, though he will be adding considerably to that after the Castillo fight.
Were the purses announced for the Castillo fight? I don't recall seeing anything.

Because I think Hatton's best days are behind him - he'll never top the Tszyu night - I think we're going to see another touch and go win with Castillo. Good chance he'll pick up cuts and tire late on, assuming Castillo stays with him - and I think he will.
Mayweather?? PLEASE. He wont go near him, unless it's a retirement fight.
Floyd just beat a P4P LIGHTMIDDLE, whereas Ricky struggled with a near journeyman welterweight - and out came all the excuses about it being the "wrong weight etc"
You don't hear excuses like that from Floyd, who's fighting about a stone over his best weight.

He'll probably make about 4 million dollars. Can't see him making much more than that considering it's not on ppv and Castillo needs paying as well. Winky & Taylor made about that much when they fought and I think I read that HBO lost money on the fight.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Bear in mind the 25% to his manager, (his dad in his case though), his trainer's fee, which i think is 10% as standard isn't it? I'm sure I've read Ricky is receiving $5M for Castillo. How much is Castillo getting paid?

That's a lot of pies.....Ricky will end up bloody huge in his retirement days.Greg Nicholas wrote:The 6 million for Hatton is total
I can picture him in 10 years time, doing prime time boxing commentary on channel 1777.8999, squeezing his bulk into his broadcasting seat and chatting to a grey bearded Duke The Kid McKenzie.

To be fair though, Floyd has the right style to negate and offset weight advantages. Hatton's style is ALL ABOUT strength, workrate and pressure. Pressure fighters seldom do well outside of their original weight class. look at Castillo last time out at 140, he looked shit.MightyWarrior wrote:Because I think Hatton's best days are behind him - he'll never top the Tszyu night - I think we're going to see another touch and go win with Castillo. Castillo will get surprisingly done over by Hatton, but Hatton cannot really move up in weight and be successful.
I would also argue against Oscar being a P4P light middle. I think there are probably several better light middles than Oscar. Karmazin, Ouma to name but two. Aside from Oscar only really has one really creditable win at 154 and that's against Castillejo.

Take your point about styles, but for a fighter who scorns excuses, there have been a lot coming out of Hatton's camp lately: last three fights have been - legal worries...wrong weight.....chest cold...jamesmcdonnell wrote: To be fair though, Floyd has the right style to negate and offset weight advantages. And I guess I meant a P4P fighter, at light middle. I personaly think the best LM out there is unpronouncable Dzinziruk, who's fighting this weekend out of Germany.
I didn't watch Castillo last time out....sounds bad but I'm hoping he didn't really train for that one, and this time he will.
Still, he must be a millionare by now, sitting pretty in Mexico city.
