After failing ever to do business with the 2000 Olympic champion, Audley Harrison, Warren has now signed the current one, Russian Alexander Povetkin, 25 (pictured), who is also a double world amateur champion. Povetkin is big, blond and can bang. 'He wants to be fighting for the world title in two years,' says Warren

Skelton-Williams II[Williams] said: "(Promoter) allegedly hopes the winner on Saturday can get a go against WBA champion Nikolay Valuev, maybe in the summer.
The winner could go on to fight for a world title later this year, according to promoter allegedly.
Promoter allegedly says Danny Williams will get a crack at WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev but he will have to bide his time.
The Commonwealth champion retained his crown with a split decision win over Matt Skelton on Saturday and said the Russian is next on his hit list.
"Valuev is fighting in April or May so he may not fight again until the autumn," said Warren.
"But there will be a fight. I'll deliver it as I have done in the past."
"The talk last year was of me fighting Audley and the winner going on to fight for a world title, but I was injured and Michael took his chance.
"(Promoter) allegedly then stated that the winner would face me, and whoever won that fight would get a world title opportunity.

I'm just surprised that boxingchat hasn't got the sack yet for making his master look even more of a fool than normal (even though Frank did a cracking job of it himself with his latest NOTW column this week).hitman_hatton1 wrote:ownage.thespy wrote:You would never go down that road.boxingchat wrote:Gary Shaw announces that he has signed Victor Oganov. Why do we adopt these american sayings so readily.
What ever happened to
"By 'eck"
"Or flippin' Nora"
Or good ole "Gordon Bennett".
I vote we start salvaging our Britishness from the scrap-heap and oust this American jingoism.
I don't even like Coffee. Although I did like Cheri Lunghi if that helps.
Isn't it, strictly speaking 'flamin' nora.'DavidPayne wrote:What is it with sniffing coffee.

jomothepure wrote:Also saviour, do you by any chance have any factual evidence relating to FA claiming a Matthew Hatton/Gatti fight had been signed? I know they were apparently in talks at one time, but I didn't actually hear that it had been (alledgedly) signed sealed and delivered
