Whoever you know at SN must have a bloody big mouth then, because you seem to know an awful lot about their workings there!

I am perfectly calm old boy.

The use of a single exlamation mark does not indicate that I am here having a fit you know.

What bad vibes are these? I merely pointed out, that you seemed to know an awful lot for someone who didn't actually work for SN.

I think you will find in any case, that generally speaking, I'm pretty much the voice of reason. :TU:

If you don't like him why do you keep talking about him..weired or what!

Do you think this sport would prosper without him? Could Frank Maloney, Mick Hennessy or Dennis Hobson take the sport to a new level? If the answer is yes, why haven't they?
Frank is the biggest dog in the dog pound, and therefore gets the most attention, it's as simple as that.

It's the same reason Robbie Williams gets more papparazzi chasing him that Joe Pasquale.

I think there are a fair few here who acknowledge that Frank is a major force in boxing, just because he gets criticised does not mean there is some sort of vendetta.

I certainly don't have anything against Warren, Sports Network etc, but I do expect to be able to voice an opinion on here about their promotions, fighters, or press releases, without fear of being blackballed and refused press credentials, or worse, having abuse hurled at me over the phone by SN employees over comments mistakenly attributed to me, whilst out doing my shopping in Sainsburys. Something which I incidentally never received an apology for, despite the fact that it was completely out of line, and a complete mistake on SN's part.

I would suggest that perhaps it would be better to just let some of this criticism slide, especially on here, I mean after all, how many people even read these comments, there's only about 100 of us, and the stuff we discuss isn't even interesting to our own mates, let alone the wider world.

I neither like nor dislike SN or allegedly allegedly, it's a fact that it/they exist, and are the major players in UK boxing by some stretch, and I reserve the right, so long as my comments are neither defamatory or libellous, to have an opinion about their efforts in boxing.

you get caned because you are a tosser. simple

Funny how all of a sudden this has turned into a slagging match, from one side only please note isn't it?

See James, everything was good and people were being sensible having a healthy debate and along you come and start a childish spat with a new guy. Anyway, if you shop in Sainsbury's you deserve abuse.

BTW was the bollcking you got because you made a sexual inuendo about Joe Calzaghe and his wife? Very Professional that!

Truth is James, you write very nicely and put words together better than most, but most of the time you are writing with little or no knowledge and you do tend to mis-inform people.

Now can we get back to MY question time.

in light of his win at the weekend, do you think that hatton made a decent move in progressing away from SN, and do you think the super fight/s mentioned could happen?

does maloney have some inside info by the way? he couldn't wait to voice his opinion of what the manchester mexican was going to do next

Boxing chat,
How happy is the organisation with Dean Powell as match maker ?
Do you think anyone is capable of filling the void left by the passing of Ernie Fossey ?
For example, I don't think Ernie would have exposed SN to the level of criticism coming forward following a couple of recent mis matches. Would he have recommended Gunn for Macca ?

Dean seems okay and a nice guy for a Tangerine, but even he would admit he's no Ernie Fossey, you can't replace such people.

And NO to the other question but as I said, ernie was in the game for 50+ years. Dean will NEVER replace Ernie in any way.

I don't think Hatton made the right move, no. He could have done everything he is doing now with FW and maybe made more money. Warren has a proven track record whereas Hobson has not in any way. Deep down I think Hatton knows this but blood is thicker than water and his Dad will ultimately screw it up as Riath Hamed did for Naz.

Maloney? wouldn't surprise me is the Hatton used him as an advisor. If so
they must be mad but it's a step up on Ambrose Mendy and Terry Marsh, I suppose who were both notable absentees at the weekend. Maloney is very thick with Pellullo but two half-wits don't make a whole-wit!

BTY, is Hobson sponsored by Wrigleys? He chews like a fornicating cow all the time.

A hero but not an unsung one. Ernie made the likes of Hamed, Benn and Hatton to name but a few.

Er no actually, it was because someone on here stated that a certain employee at Sports Network was a tosser, that someone WAS NOT me. And the same said person decided to start screaming down the phone at me, which was, rather surprising whilst I chose my preferred sausages for dinner. I had no idea what on earth he was going on about in fact.

I didn't come on here and start a spat, I suddenly got called a tosser by the mysterious boxing 101, who rather miraculously appeared from the ether to castigate me.

As I haven't actually been doing much reporting lately whatsoever, I fail to see what I have been misinforming people about precisely? I have taken almost 18 months off with only the odd article here and there.

I was merely questioning whether or not you really don't work for Sports Network, If you did it is obviously of interest, however, I can understand why it would be difficult to openly admit it, because then any comments would be attributable to Sports Network.

I guess rather like Kendo Nagasaki, we will never know for sure your identity, but it's not a personal attack for people to speculate is it?

Or Hong Kong Phooey?

Why have you taken 18 months off James?

This thread is degenerating thanks to Boxing 101 having a pop at you.

Anyway, sausages?

Be honest, do you think SN would have been happy to have let Hatton fight abroad though?

I'm not having a pop before you start laying me. I am just saying, that the one aspect of the move which I think is a positive factor is that Hatton got to fight in America.

I agree that SN and Warren are far more experienced, and I think Warren could have delivered the same fights as Hobson no trouble, there's no reason to suppose he couldn't. However, I think Frank may well have wanted to keep the promotion at home, which again, is understandable, but if so, we would have lost the chance to see Hatton in Vegas.

Agree or disagree?
