For what it's worth, he looks like a strong bloke does Oyebola. Who knows, maybe that will have some bearing on a good recovery. But he's been shot in a terrible place. Where about in his face did it hit? What kind of gun was it?
Fvcking scum. I hope they're shitting themselves about getting caught.

Tragic news, sign of the times in this country.
we are too busy invading other countries rather than look after our own, most of the country is flooded due to no money being spent on improving our areas, the NHS is in a state, we cannot get a dentist for love or money. Our police practically have no authority.
RIP James

I hope you are right, THE SUN is never reliable.
I can find no other story saying he passed away.

That link on the Sun website is now a dead link, and there's no reports of James' death on the BBC etc, so looks like he's still fighting.
I'm hoping against hope that the big guy pulls through it and is as unscathed as he could be in these circumstances, the Guardian report sounds promising if James can survive. Prayers are with you champ.

Just read that chances are slim but he is still in there.
COME ON JAMES!!
The Sun disgusts me.

Simply executing people who perpetrate gun crime ain't gonna work.
It's not a matter of morals, it's a matter of expediency.
The upsurge in gun trade is primarily due to the drug trade, it is needed to protect drugs/money, you can't exactly go to the cops to say u've been robbed!
A lot of firearms are being offloaded throughout the old eastern bloc countries.
Obviously guns/crime being glamorised in films/music does not help.
It seems to be most kids back up plan if they don't get on Big Brother!
You are right that advanced science has reduced this risk but as Terry said, eggs will be broken.verballistic wrote:DNA testing has greatly reduced the chances of an innocent man being fried...and it provides incontrovertible evidence in many cases!!Coco wrote:Terry D wrote:One thing that you can say about capital punishment and getting the wrong person is that you cannot make an omlette without breaking a few eggs. Occasionallly an innocent person will be put to death but on the other hand we will be weeding out a lot of bad wheat if we accept capital punishment for certain crimes.
I feel the crux of the capital punishment argument if whether having one guilty man executed is too much.
If we did have the death penalty there will always be errors and innocent men will die.
Is it worth sacrificing a few innocent men to execute many guilty men?
Remember the Birmingham six would have all have been executed.
I think the argument is, is one innocent life too much? Because there will always be at least one.
I doubt there will be many people who would oppose the death sentance for some of the horrible scum out there, but legislation would have to be put into place to organise this and that is where problems occur.
If it was the simple question, does the likes of Brady, Hindley or Huntley deserve to die, it would be an easy answer
yup but their esistence inside is worse than hell anyway, prison being a nonce is exactly what they deserve a living hell.
Huntley and Brady have both had failed suicide attempts which obviously means they must be suffering where they are if taking their own lives is the only answer.
in which case good, i hope every second drags an eternity.

Which brings us back to legalising drugs. Take away this lucrative cash stream and cause of turf wars, by selling drugs in licensed outlets, much like we do with alcohol. It will kill the drug trade stone dead, the quality would be better and cleaner, and the gangs would surely decline with it.Coco wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Well, if we want to sort our society out, we'd better start finding out what is causing this upsurge in gun crime fast, and doing something about it.

The crack trade in South London is what the rise in gang culture is all about.
It won't end gun crime, but I dare say it would reduce it a lot.
