The only circumstances where it could be seen as somewhat understandable (but still unacceptable) is if there was the threat of violence from James. If there is a court case expect the defense to use this line of defense regardless of the truth of the matter

For what it's worth, he looks like a strong bloke does Oyebola. Who knows, maybe that will have some bearing on a good recovery. But he's been shot in a terrible place. Where about in his face did it hit? What kind of gun was it?

Tragic news, sign of the times in this country.

we are too busy invading other countries rather than look after our own, most of the country is flooded due to no money being spent on improving our areas, the NHS is in a state, we cannot get a dentist for love or money. Our police practically have no authority.

Well, if we want to sort our society out, we'd better start finding out what is causing this upsurge in gun crime fast, and doing something about it.

Simply executing people who perpetrate gun crime ain't gonna work.

It's not a matter of morals, it's a matter of expediency.

That link on the Sun website is now a dead link, and there's no reports of James' death on the BBC etc, so looks like he's still fighting.

I'm hoping against hope that the big guy pulls through it and is as unscathed as he could be in these circumstances, the Guardian report sounds promising if James can survive. Prayers are with you champ.

Just read that chances are slim but he is still in there.

The upsurge in gun trade is primarily due to the drug trade, it is needed to protect drugs/money, you can't exactly go to the cops to say u've been robbed!

A lot of firearms are being offloaded throughout the old eastern bloc countries.

Obviously guns/crime being glamorised in films/music does not help.
It seems to be most kids back up plan if they don't get on Big Brother!

yup but their esistence inside is worse than hell anyway, prison being a nonce is exactly what they deserve a living hell.

Huntley and Brady have both had failed suicide attempts which obviously means they must be suffering where they are if taking their own lives is the only answer.

Which brings us back to legalising drugs. Take away this lucrative cash stream and cause of turf wars, by selling drugs in licensed outlets, much like we do with alcohol. It will kill the drug trade stone dead, the quality would be better and cleaner, and the gangs would surely decline with it.

The crack trade in South London is what the rise in gang culture is all about.

It won't end gun crime, but I dare say it would reduce it a lot.
