NZ child killer/boxer
When I was in Melbourne last year while the Commonwealth Games were on, there was quite a fuss about a Kiwi boxer who was a convicted child killer and was on the NZ team after coming out of prison. He didn't do very well but obviously his notoriety preceded him.
Any news on him since the Games?

A grown man killing an innocent child and he is let out of jail in a few years, The law stinks people like this should get the fuckin death penalty.ChrisQ wrote:I dont think his past should've had anything to do with his selection. if he's done his time then no reason why he can't participate.
The death of his daughter had nothing to do with boxing.

Looks like somebody decided to gamble on his notoriety.

Powceby was convicted of manslaughter, which implies lack of intent to kill. The baby was malnourished at the time of its death, which happened when the mother was out buying take away food. Powceby was 19 at the time.
There has been a lot of stuff written about him becoming a "born again" christian in recent times. Last refuge of the scroundrel, perhaps?
