Gomez claimed that he just decided to quit boxing there and then , and I believe him(although I originally went with the fix argument) I think it dawned on Gomez that his British title and WBU days headlining on Sky were over and from now on he was going to have to grind out tough victories over durable guys like McDonagh to even get near where he used to be and as I said thought 'eff it , why should I bother ?'![]()

The judges had McDonagh winning on the score cards, he never had a mark on him and Gomez had was all marked up and I recall his head being bounced about time and time again and I had McDonagh winning so I dont know what you was watching. I dont know about 'big ears' I think you need some big glassesBigEars wrote:What ?............I just said I thought Gomez gave up while he was winning(I had him 4 rounds up) and there's no doubt about it Gomez was beating the crap out of McDonagh for almost all of the fight until he gave up .1southpaw wrote:at the end of the day do you think that gomez would have given up if he was winning no nor do i a lot of people under estimate mcdonagh because of his record but it just shows you what he can do when he's had notice for a fight (burke/gomez i think he would stop gomez again and would give the top names in britain at super feather a good run for there money people seem to forget that mcdonagh is his best at 9st 4lbsBigEars wrote:McDonagh is an iron chinned , feather fisted journeyman with a reasonable punch output and decent stamina . your talkin shite Des - I had GOmez winning three and drawing one, I dont think I have heard of anyone that thought McDonagh was ahead or even level at the timeDes1 wrote:The judges had McDonagh winning on the score cards, he never had a mark on him and Gomez had was all marked up and I recall his head being bounced about time and time again and I had McDonagh winning so I dont know what you was watching. Peter Mcdonagh is a journey man that beat Gomez when he was at his worse, all mcdonagh has done is price himself out of fights and lookin for the big ones which i dont blame him for but lets be real, why not fight one of the prospects about,Smedley wanted to fight him but he wanted too much.come on peter show a bit of arse and take on the prospects.icky Smedley will fight you any time give FA a ringSTEVE WOOD wrote:Toby ,
Michael is not ready for 12 round fights just yet and Peter is not either.
Tell Peter I wil be in touch with his people soon and we can try and make the fight for October , may the best man win.
Thank you ,

And neither had I , I doubt McDonagh even thought he was winning .sligobhoy67 wrote:your talkin shite Des - I had GOmez winning three and drawing one, I dont think I have heard of anyone that thought McDonagh was ahead or even level at the timeDes1 wrote:The judges had McDonagh winning on the score cards, he never had a mark on him and Gomez had was all marked up and I recall his head being bounced about time and time again and I had McDonagh winning so I dont know what you was watching. I think Des here might be a slight bit biased , and I get the feeling he wouldn't have made the claim that McDonagh was winning had the fight been on tv in the UK and more people here seen what actually happened .
No not at all biased, I thought he was winning and so did many neutral people, I heard he was ahead one score cards, or at least one anyway, but basically thats not the issue is it, you all keep banging on as if Gomez was right bashing him up and then suddenly quit, no that didnt happen, at worst you might say 'McDonagh was still in the fight' and anyway if Gomez's excuse for losing is he 'got to bored'BigEars wrote:And neither had I , I doubt McDonagh even thought he was winning .sligobhoy67 wrote:your talkin shite Des - I had GOmez winning three and drawing one, I dont think I have heard of anyone that thought McDonagh was ahead or even level at the timeDes1 wrote:The judges had McDonagh winning on the score cards, he never had a mark on him and Gomez had was all marked up and I recall his head being bounced about time and time again and I had McDonagh winning so I dont know what you was watching. he didn't stop him simply because McDonagh has a very good chin and was throwing punches back , doesn't mean he wasn't taking a beating(imo)Des1 wrote:No not at all biased, I thought he was winning and so did many neutral people, I heard he was ahead one score cards, or at least one anyway, but basically thats not the issue is it, you all keep banging on as if Gomez was right bashing him up and then suddenly quit, no that didnt happen, at worst you might say 'McDonagh was still in the fight' and anyway if Gomez's excuse for losing is he 'got to bored'BigEars wrote:And neither had I , I doubt McDonagh even thought he was winning .sligobhoy67 wrote: your talkin shite Des - I had GOmez winning three and drawing one, I dont think I have heard of anyone that thought McDonagh was ahead or even level at the time

Gomez said he was bored of hitting McDonagh
but surely he knows most ref's are quick to jump in and stop fights to soon nowadays so why wasnt he able to put a few punches together, have the fight won then the one who was suposed to win wins then there wouldnt be this big debate! How many fighters have excuses when they lose? Unfortunately record book's dont say 'lost...but' do they, fact is McDonagh won the fight and he'll win again should they ever box again I believe
toby wasn't McDonagh meant to have been fighting Romanov as a tune up for Romaov's European title fight ? , but then one of them pulled out with injury and that was the last talk of McDonagh fighting till this rematch with Gomez which has seemed to come about . Lets hope Uri Geller is available again
it dont really matter if mcdonagh was winning or loseing he still got the w next to his name come on peter bash gomez againsligobhoy67 wrote:your talkin shite Des - I had GOmez winning three and drawing one, I dont think I have heard of anyone that thought McDonagh was ahead or even level at the timeDes1 wrote:The judges had McDonagh winning on the score cards, he never had a mark on him and Gomez had was all marked up and I recall his head being bounced about time and time again and I had McDonagh winning so I dont know what you was watching.
