Haye has already said he's going to skip the domestic HW scene and target world titles straight awaynickd wrote:If Haye beats Mormeck I doubt we'll see him in with any of the domestic heavies and rightly so. Why would a WBC champion then go up in weight and back to domestic level? I guess there's a chance he will do that if he loses to Mormeck.
Sprott-Harrison 2 and Williams-Skelton 3 ordered

That's a good shout.nickd wrote:If Haye beats Mormeck I doubt we'll see him in with any of the domestic heavies and rightly so. Why would a WBC champion then go up in weight and back to domestic level? I guess there's a chance he will do that if he loses to Mormeck.
If I was David Haye, I wouldn't be interested in that useless lot of HW's myself.
I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference. The loss would get put down to weight-making difficulties and his career would progress in the same as if he'd beat Mormeck.oliverfennell wrote:But as nickd said, what if he loses to Mormeck?Chambers2 wrote:Haye has already said he's going to skip the domestic HW scene and target world titles straight awaynickd wrote:If Haye beats Mormeck I doubt we'll see him in with any of the domestic heavies and rightly so. Sure he's have that excuse, and he'd move up to heavy aqnyway, but he's not going to get an immediate HW title shot coming off a loss for the cruiser title. In which case, he may well get in with the domestic heavies.Chambers2 wrote:I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference. The way I understood what Haye said was that he was moving onto the World scene (not necessarily straight into a title shot) and was going to bypass the British HW merry go round altogether, but as you say if hes having a couple of buildling fights at HW he may as well spark Skelton or Danny as some yank.oliverfennell wrote:Sure he's have that excuse, and he'd move up to heavy aqnyway, but he's not going to get an immediate HW title shot coming off a loss for the cruiser title. I wonder if Haye will go and base himself in the states when he moves upto HW or whether he'll just ship opponents in?

I wouldnt mind seeing Haye v Skelton but Haye v any of the others doesnt appeal - I cant see a loss against Mormeck doing him too much harm and the excuse for losing would be obvious - Its such a close fight anyway so if Haye does well and loses he will still move up to HW with his reputation intact - If he wins he will move up as a star and potential two weight world champion - Good luck to him, hes our best hope at HW.
