I firstly couldnt understand why nothing was said about the winner fighting Khan next - Then I was further confused in the post fight interview when Jon Thaxton made no mention of Khan but spoke of Katsidis as an opponent - WTF is going on - Jon was scrappy last night and was pretty poor until the latter part of the fight when he started to land punches and show his superior strength and stamina - I couldnt agree at all with the judges scorecards and it seems Jon himself coudnt either but thankfully with the stoppage they were not needed - Stewart had such a height and reach advantage Thaxton kept getting caught but with a cut eye and running out of stamina Stewart started to fade and Jon took over - Jon also had a cut from early on in the bout but thankfully it didnt get worse - Jon never gives up and had Stewart down a couple of times in the final round before the ref intervened - I was hoping for a better fight from Thaxton but he got the win in the end - Lets hope his next fight is with Khan and that his punches are more accurate than they were against Stewart - Lets also hope after the Khan fight tonight we get confirmation of Thaxton being his next opponent.

One thing I didnt say in my previous post is regarding Khans view that Thaxton is only good for five rounds - What utter bollocks, Jonno proved he can not only do 12 but fight all the way, even if he was punching a lot of air half the time - He still has the fitness, stamina and strength but finding the target and getting caught trying was his problem last night.

Jono was knackered going the 12 though yesterday. He was trying to concentrate too much on bombing Stewart out.

Dunno why people think he would trouble Khan after watching that. His power will test Khan's chin but thats It.

Thaxton has always been very mediocre.

If Khan has any real aspirations of world level he should be destroying the Thaxton's of the world.

....and I think that was the problem, he was trying too much to bomb Stewart out.

As Thaxton himself said, he thought it would be an early night, basically he underestimated Stewart and nearly paid for it. He was so pumped up before the fight it was untrue. Even then, Thaxton showed how relentless he could be, cut and bruised, knackered himself, but still dangerous even down the stretch. Five round fighter? Hmmmm.

I think Thaxton would give Khan hell, and last night has just confirmed that opinion in my head. I think Thaxton would fight a cleverer fight than he did last night, he has to really, and I think Jonno realises that.

He could offer Khan up to 12 rounds in which he would always be in a competitive fight with someone who thought they could win and who's power he would always have to consider when he through combinations throughout the fight. Would be a good fight for the lad.

i think a big win by khan will see him favourite & then the match will proberly come off

if khan just wins reasonabley comfortable it will be a few fights off yet

Thaxton should get his payday against Khan asap because he looks on the slide to me. There is always the chance that he was deliberately underperforming a bit just to make himself look a more attractive option, but that's a very dangerous game for any fighter to play. Either way, before last night I would have favoured Thaxton to do a number on Khan, but now I'm leaning a bit the other way...

Yes I agree, Jonno sapped his strength trying to find the big bomb - Totally wrong tactics and we have seen a lot better from him in the past - Based on last nights fight you would have to give Khan a chance but Thaxton v Khan I think would be a totally different fight.
