You can see the whole bracket by going to:

and then going to results and using the pull down menu.
Peru 0-1
I expected Zegarra to make a quick exit, and to tell you the truth I'm not too confident about Pedro Calla in the 75kg.
Carlos Zambrano at 57 kg is another story. But I see he's been matched against a Czech.
Czechs are nothing special.
57kg
Usmanee d Chudecki 18-17 - amazing win for Canada. Usmanee was down 17-15 with 16 seconds left.
Shaydulin d Ghislain 26-11
Selimov d Stan RSC1
Keita d Markevicius 23-17
Herfurth d Smith 20-14
Rodriguez d Racz 20-7
Sultonov d Cuellar 31-13
The results are being put up today, so I'm going to stop updating this here.

Wow, I just saw how they are breaking down the judging. That is interesting. Are you against this Mel? Or is it a good sign that the new AIBA is serious about cleaning up any judging problems?boxmel wrote:The "score cards" are also being shown - I find those very interesting.Regarding the draw - unless some boxers were seeded, for any reason (and no where does it state there was any seeding), it should be a random draw with no one being picked on purposely. Random draws can be gnarly!
That's the report that I see as a computer tech - we run one after every bout. AIBA's posting the scoring isn't new - it's been done in the past. I'm for it because, as I've said before, you can see who's "cheating" during the bout and can run a report after. The only problem I see is that most boxing fans won't understand the difference between the "raw" score and the "accepted" score - heck, the coaches and boxers still don't understand how computer scoring works. I looked through several of them, and it appeared that most of the clicking was very consistent. The few cases where someone was way out of line with the others were pretty obvious. I also got the impression that the US judges seem to be more stingy with points - any truth to that?boxmel wrote:That's the report that I see as a computer tech - we run one after every bout. Then they're off to a good start.I looked through several of them, and it appeared that most of the clicking was very consistent.
And that's why we have computer scoring - so we can see those who are way out of line. The few cases where someone was way out of line with the others were pretty obvious.
Our judges tend to actually wait until they see a legal effective punch LAND with the white knuckle surface of the glove in the scoring area.I also got the impression that the US judges seem to be more stingy with points - any truth to that?
That's the most Bulgarian looking baby I've ever seen
Estrada on now against Zlatopolski. Raymond and Buga both put up impressive results, so Estrada's route may be harder than I had suggested.
Estrada up 2-0 after one round. Sounds like a real cracker.
Now 16-2 in the middle of round 3. Good to see that Estrada isn't getting hit much.
Annnnd, Estrada gets the 25-5 stoppage with thirteen seconds left in the third. Well done Shawn, no DQ's so far.
