Yep, he's also carrying his right hand low and has a bad habit of pulling his right hand/arm back as he jabs with the left in an action/reaction style more reminiscent of a martial artist, if you see what I mean. Still, good learning fight for him and good to see that he and his team are willing to put him in bouts like this.steve689 wrote:Cleverly wide open to that overhand right, would not be surprised to see him tasting the canvas sometime soon.

Hope they're right. If not, I think they need some new writers.steve689 wrote:Secondsout writers favour Calzaghe by 15-2.

MW's been holding that one back til Cleverley boxed on the biggest stage for maximum audience..........hey, I love it !MightyWarrior wrote:I'll say one thing for Joey Vegas, he's boxing Cleverly.
wot about this Setanta show......do Baxters soups think they have found a niche market in boxing enthusiasts, bloody hell i've seen the ad 26 times and counting................but unfortunately no Kessler.
I have seen about 10 seconds of Kessler in my life but I'm unashamedly telling anyone who'll listen on here that Joe will win.........if he loses, i'm going into hiding so people like Autobarn don't torture me.
Course it's extremely unlikely. :P
definitely.steve689 wrote:I'm surprised at the angle Setanta have adopted. Wrong or right it's very pro Calzaghe, i thought it would be talking up the bout as a world class spectacle but it's more of a Calzaghe celebration of his long reign.
The father/son is a match made in heaven.
Calzaghe is a great counter puncher more than anything else.
Calzaghe's pressure etc
Kessler won't be a problem (so says Enzo, who trains nothing but winners).
Success breeds success (the Enzo team).
Decade of dominance.
Kessler's not had the experience.
Even Clinton is singing Joe's praises. The Clinton who told Joe to wait in line. Who had Joe pull out of a fight...
Good job they interviewed Claude, who basically said that Kessler has been downplayed because he's not from a big boxing country.

Bunce is pretty much dictating the show really, Clinton looks shellshocked and can't get a word in. And Bunce is a BIG Calzaghe fan obviously. Would have been good to get a Danish newspaper or TV boxing man in the studio as well.
I reckon the reason Enzo Calzaghe is generaly so unpopular with the media is that he has a HUGE ego - and rightly so - but NO sense of humour at all - at least in interviews. And he's very over bearing and boastful.
Deserves massive credit for what's he's done, but he's right: he doesn't get it.

i am finding the addition of Clinton Woods very refreshing, bit like Richie Woodhall in that here is a quality Brit boxer, very down to Earth, giving us all a great insight.
if you ignore the slightly uncomfortable posture and style but the host who used to be on Sky does a great job of carrying him along.........think it's hilarious whenever Woods is asked a question if he isn't right there with the answer the "chap who used to be on Sky" just jumps straight on him with another.

Purely speculation on my part, but aside from the obvious partisanship you'd expect, I wonder if some of that is driven because of purchasing the Calzaghe footage and feeling they have to derive maximum benefit from it - doesn't look like they've invested in any Kessler footage that's for sure!steve689 wrote:I'm surprised at the angle Setanta have adopted.
