Yeah I definitely would.KO Artist wrote:Joe's bird is fcucking awesome
If Joe wasn't on the scene of course!!
Night night everyone.
I also want Froch & Woods. I'd hate it if he fought Sam Soliman, Alejandro Berrio, Allan Green, Fully Zuniga or anyone like that (nonetheless decent fighters).jimglen wrote:I'm a bit disappointed in Kessler, he just didn't follow up at all and wasn't as busy overall as he should have been...Calzaghe might deserve the credit for that, but I really believe Kessler had the material to beat Calzaghe and he will now never get another chance to prove it.
I like Calzaghe and this board will show evidence of that going back 3 -4 years calling for a Calzaghe vs. Hopkins bout, but now I could care less, as I've always thought Hopkins to be a 'bit' overated and Joe also almost finished...
I'm a purist I guess, and in all honesty I'd rather see Calzaghe prove he's the best in Britain (still), and fight Carl Froch or Clinton Woods at L-HW, but Hopkins or Jones - too late and Taylor or Wright, well Taylor as far as I'm concerned would be "the only proof fight against an American opponent!
Bunce also said after six rounds he had Kessler ahead! WTF! How! After six, I gave Kessler 1 round, the second was close, but Calzaghe was running the show. I thought the commentary was awful, they were hyping up everything Kessler threw, even if it didn't land. Rawling needs to contain himself, he spouts some nonsense sometimes by looking for somthing exciting to happen. Joe was blocking and parrying most of Kessler's shots except for a couple of round where he got caught.Coco wrote:Steve Bunce said the first 6 rounds were the best rounds of boxing he had ever seen!

He is worse than McGuigan for being his paymasters puppet
I thought the scores were about right, JC adapted well and outboxed Kessler, his jab was brilliant, his speed and stamina are still fantastic.
Kessler will come back a better fighter, he will have learnt more from this defeat than all his other fights put together.
JC is a crafty bugger and used his experience well and 'old manned' him out of it.
I think the Dane was right when he said Joe was good at stopping him doing what he wanted to do so he couldn't fight his fight.
Kessler showed a lot of class in the post fight interview and he also proved himself a better fighter than I gave him credit for.
With more experience at top level, I think he will definately become world champion again.
For Joe though, this is a night to savour
The Dane did stun JC with single shots in round 4 but he covered up and the follow up did not land clearly, being deflected by the gloves.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Bunce also said after six rounds he had Kessler ahead! Joe controlled the figtht from beginning to end and showed an understanding of boxing that I've seldom seen before, he is a true great, I don't give a fekk what anyone says, the man is an absolute boxing genius, and Kessler knows it too.
Frankly James I think you have had enough Frankness to be Frank. I thought the way they scored it was in line myself. They didn't keep a definitive scorecard in running but how they assessed the rounds seemed fair enough to me.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I thought the commentary was frankly awful. They were wetting themselves whenever Kessler threw a shot, and saying 'great right hand' when Joe blocked it.
Kessler maybe landed 10 flush shots the whole night, but Rawling and Co were acting Like Joe was reeling round the ring like a drunk on the verge of being spasticated.

"No my hand was fine".
Top man. Refreshing.
Kessler is a class act, both in and out of the ring.
Kessler did do cleaner work over the 1st half, which became more apparent to me on 2nd viewing, especially when he half blocked Joe's shots (which aren't always the most accurate) and landed hard single blows. I had it 8-4 Joe and now have it 7-5, like some others on here. It was after that bad 4th that Joe really took over, but he can't have been behind after 6jamesmcdonnell wrote:Bunce also said after six rounds he had Kessler ahead! WTF! How! Jut got me thinking. the way Rawlings hypes up anything thrown, n wonder the radio 5 live fights were exciting!jamesmcdonnell wrote:I thought the commentary was frankly awful. They were wetting themselves whenever Kessler threw a shot, and saying 'great right hand' when Joe blocked it.
