Nipped into the press conference today.
Must be said, it's the first time i'd heard Robin Reid talk at length and he was friendly, open and elaborated on a lot of things, including his loss to Lacy and the events leading to that night in the States which weren't ideal prep. The training facility was only the tip of the iceberg.
He acknowledged Froch was a big hitter, but that he'd been in with the likes of Henry Wharton etc who could all dig and he'd took their shots.
He said his preparation had gone very well, with Michael Jennings providing a lot of sparring (at that point apologising to Mike, who'd been cut during the training)
His main message, was that people should concentrate on his achievements in boxing and not dwell on the Lacy loss as that what not a true indication of his current ability. He likened his sharpness and fitness to the period he'd fought Ottke & Magee and was confident his 'excellent' plan for Friday would see him as the victor - And that Friday was his bonfire night and that he would be letting off the fireworks!
