No offence but it sounds that maybe your a former opponent, someone close to a former opponent of his, or he has chatted up your woman, maybe even had your woman. I dont know but you seem very bitter towards him for some reason and I find people dont react like this unless it has a bit of personal emotion to it. I mean someone has only suggested that they think Howard may win this fight and you seem to have gone into a rant. Do you know him on a personal level to think hes a tw@t, or do you really think a British , European Champion & World title challanger is sh*t?
Don't put him off, i'm trying to get him to come thru with a bet!
ha ha sorry mate, yes come to think of it he may have a point, Howard Eastman is no good, he's just an example of someone who was lucky once!

I'll have a few quid on Howard at 3-1 that's good odds, although I didn't see the Elcock fight I believe there's life in the old dog yet.

The reason I'm saying Howard is crap, is because he is. I know that now, but I didn't used to.

I, like you, used to believe he was capable of something, anything.

I saw him lose to Sloppy Joppy, but I still believed that he was just unlucky there and if he started a little bit quicker in his next title shot, we'd have a world champion...
I sat up till 6 in the morning to see if he could ruin Bernard's XX show...
no.
But I still believed in old Howard, he just fought an unbeatable master that time, so unlucky again, Eastman...
BUT WAIT, he can take Abraham over in Germany and be back in the title mix... but no, it was too much for old Howard.
But one more chance... maybe he can beat a young girl called Miranda from Columbia. Maybe not. Maybe old Howard is too old now.
He comes back to England, at this point I couldn't care less about old Howard, I'd believed in him so many times and he couldn't do it so many times...

There comes a point where you have to think logically, and sensibly. And logic tells me Howard is 7 years older than the old man who started too slow against Sloppy Joppy, not to mention his most recent performance, and his first even loss in Blighty.

Howard has fought outside England 4 times and lost the lot. He's in Ireland this time, against a much younger, unbeaten guy. Duddy isn't proven, but Howard is a proven failure.

3/1 on a Howard win? i wouldn't take 500/1.

On his last performance, Eastman is there for the taking by good British/European level boxers.

That said, Elcock didn't stand still for long (excellent tactics). Someone who likes a punch up and has a poor defence could still come unstuck against Howard.

Duddy - A Note from Camp

Post by Jabby »

John Duddy and Don Turner have had a very progressive 5 weeks together. They're moving in on the last intensive workout and will break camp in North Carolina this Friday. John will spend a whole 1 day in his home in Queens, NY and then he'll be on his way, along with Don and Tony McLoughlin, to Belfast late Sunday evening, landing in Belfast Monday morning.

Duddy is in top form and has been brought to the peak of as good as he can presently be. He's very anxious to test his skills against the calibre of fighter that is Howard Eastman.

John sends his regards to all and hopes that you'll all get to King's Hall on Dec. 8.

By the way..... Some good advise is to buy your tickets today. Chances of this show being declared "Sold Out" in the coming few days are 100%. There will be no walk-up sales.

Howard was never quite world class, that's true, he wasn't good enough, simple as that, but he was far from crap. He was a contender who went twelve rounds with Hopkins, and therefore is a legitimate threat, even now to someone like Duddy who has a porous defence and likes to get involved. I don't make howard favourite by any stretch, but 3-1 is still crazy odds. Howard definetly has more than a 25% chance of winning this.

Duddy has fought NO-ONE!

I can see a Dunne - type silence in the kings hall, though after 9-10 rounds.

Is there anyway those of us in England can watch this fight live?

Is anyone broadcasting it?

I'm amazed Sky haven't picked it up to juice up their PPV and compete with Amir Khan.

Good one Terrence.

My thoughts exactly, how on earth people are giving Eastman no chance against someone as wide open as a porn stars ringpiece (to continue the anlogies) is beyond me.

That's the most sense I've heard on this thread, they do both suck.
But Eastman sucks more, and he's nearly fossilised aswell.

Duddy. :box:

The fact that Eastman had a close one with Ashira shows how bad he Is.

Sky should of mentioned how Ashira exactly went the distance with Calzaghe.

Aye, Duddy is easier to hit than a girl taking part in a 15 man bukkake.
That's right, his style has more flaws than the empire state building.

This Duddy guy- he had life & death war with an ancient shot welterweight Yory-Boy Campas. Says it all. Now hes gonna stop Eastman? Erm...

I hope Eastman is up for this one, its very very winnable.
I see you have it nicely set up not to give any credit to Duddy. firstly, you say Eastman is till a threat..but if Duddy beats him, well, Eastman must not have been up for it 8)
