I know of it from being around London then. There was a bit in Boxing monthly a couple of back about it to.

I don't want to name the amateur as he is close friend and don't see why he should be dragged into it

The Sun's a good read and you should get your news from all sources. As the most read paper in the UK, it is an important document to chart the feelings of the nation.

If you are interested in media, you're a moron if you don't read it.
i thought you're a moron of you DO read it.

almost every other Tabloids are Spurting out BS, and apologizing in the next issue. Its a continous Cycle.

Of course i dont even know why im typing this, since im a "Moron" for not agreeing with you
Well you're certainly a moron when it comes to grammar and punctuation....

Additionally, by your logic, 10 million Britons are morons because they read The Sun. Hmmmm some individuals would suggest that is a gross generalization, and would throw their arms up in horror if you suggested that another sizeable group was composed of morons.
Sorry to get involved in this, but The Sun pulls TWO million readers.

It was Magri's last fight.
he was a pudendum in the gym with kids. gave a belting to a kid I know who was 14 and he was a professional. Had a bad reputation for it. he couldn't get many small men to spar with so lawless brought in kids. he took liberties
What's a 'pudendum'?
Clue: We all came from one, and then spend most of our adults lives trying to get back into one.

Well, I see no reason for you to lie about it, but all I can say is that, if that is the case, I'm somewhat shocked.

Fair enough James. I'm not a fan of him as a bloke because of that but it doesn't take away the fact he was a good world champion who made the 8 stone division fashionable in Britain at the time.

Actually NONE.

Charlie did actually meet the Krays, visited one in Jail after he retired, but we decided to edit it out as it added nothing to the story, and was a bit cheesy.

There were quite a few bits were left on the cutting room floor. We lost about 15,000 words at the end I think.

The most ironic book in the world would be 'Save the Rainforests' co-authored by Dooley and McDonnell. As Buncey would say, 'Trust me'. :TU:

And a circle would still have more valid points.

Ok come on....its Friday.

I once announced on boxing-central that Bruce Scott had been selected as Evander Holyfield's comeback opponent.

I even checked with the promoter.

Bryan Scott didn't do well in the fight.

No - it sells over 3.5 million copies, but it is estimated that 3 or at least 2.5 individuals read each copy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sun_(newspaper)

Wikipedia says 8 million readers, but the Sun says 10 million...

Either way, way more than 2 mil......

Bit of a dubious way of judging a man, on the heresay of one disgruntled ex amateur. I was around during Charlies career and never heard such stories, though its possible that he was a hard guy in sparring, given his fighting style he would hardly be a fancydan in sparring would he?. Surely if Charlie made a habit of beating up innocent schoolboys there would have been more said about it. Maybe this guy did spar with Charlie and maybe he took liberties with Charlie and so had to be put in his place, this is much more likely.
I always heard that Magri sparred with his much bigger stablemates which is how he got his nose busted up (accidentially) by the 6 foot plus middleweight Mark Kaylor... most bullies dont pick on people almost a foot taller than themselves me thinks!...
