the card was predictably pretty meh....for all the euro fights it was obvious it was quantity over quality

fair play for yafai and cunn, but the rest was pretty poopy tbh

Dos Santos was puffed up to the max. Bookies were not fooled either.

yafai-cunn was good, the rest was mismatches. richards was the worst because his dragged out the full 12, at least the others ended theres early or were only 6 rounders.

I think that’s more that Eddie just doesn’t really like to match his fighters against each other.

He reminds me quite a lot of Kell Brook - particularly with his shot accuracy. His punches look like they hurt, just not quite the power to take guys out in one shot early in a fight.

I think that’s more that Eddie just doesn’t really like to match his fighters against each other.

Doesn’t like to match his own fighters and doesn’t like to work with other promoters. Foreign free agents only for Eddie’s boys.

He does it occasionally but needs to get over it and do it more often. Would be a good fight. I’m also surprised his got Buatsi in for the European title. Igor Mikhalkin is fighting for the vacant title in a few months - it would have been a reasonable opponent for tonight.

The big thing for Buatsi for me is that he needs to be out far more frequently. I think Canelo’s stock has risen (as his profile) from being out 3 times in the last 6 months. Made me think back to how well Hatton was built fighting consistently 4 times a year when he reached 12-round level.

They should be trying to get Buatsi out again in July, then September and then December. I’d quite like to see him fight Bolotniks, Salamov or Vlasov next.

Buatsi will never be a big star.

I think it probably would but both would have to fight a couple of times before then and look good.

Okolie vs Chamberlain did about 8,000 there and you’d have the added rubbish of it being FW vs Matchroom with this one which would give it more coverage. Can’t see it happening though.

They were both undefeated local rivals and it still wasn't half full.

That was well hyped as well, first card of the year. Sky hyped it well, so did IFL and so on.

Was called ‘British Beef’ as well.

Personally i think Buatsi cleans out Yarde, Arthur and Johnson. Very frustrating for British fans that these obvious domestic match-ups don't happen in favour of getting some Euro journeymen in to flatten. All British dust-ups always have that bit of edge to them with the various camps/regions that you rarely see from unknown Euro fighters.

Hearn talked up the Richards fight, that's another good one for Buatsi. Needs to step up the level now i didn't realise he was 28.

How many fights did Groves and Degale have. That was nearly full.

McGregor and Farooq had a pretty decent crowd at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, not sure how many the indoor arena holds - maybe 7k? Think Farooq may have had over ten fights but not McGregor.
