I haven’t even looked at who he’s fighting but imagine it’s a quick knock over job. Pointless and one of the things I hate about boxing. You’ll have to make sure you get there early for it. 👍
He’s lost 22 of last 23 fights if my maths is right.
Should be a corker.
Yeah - but will Metcalf be just the 7th man to stop him?
Might as well not put him on the show unless he’s given a little tester. I know he’s got Kermit coming up but surely beating Vazeem 60-54 does not nothing.
He might even get cut or pick up an injury.

Wonder if Hearn wants rid of every single British light middle. He seems to be feeding them to him when they’ve got no momentum.

Don’t get it.

They’ll justify it as a loosener/confidence builder. In reality it’s not necessary as it proves nothing and has risk attached to it.

There’s a WBA bauble on the line. Does he need to win a fight to be eligible for it after his defeats?

Maybe. I know you have to for the WBO and I think it used to be the case for the European. The WBA give title shots out like confetti though so I’d be surprised if that’s right. Dubois lost to Joyce but then went straight in to a WBA interim fight but who knows.

going 0-16 in 20 months, including getting stopped 3 times is kinda impressive.

and using him as an opponent on a card your already getting some heat for... thats ballsy.

Yeah - not like they’re super stacked cards either.

The 2 US cards look strong though and I’m more looking forward to them than the U.K. ones.
Just a symptom of going to a new deal with a pretty weak roster.

Smith/Vargas and Canelo/Bivol are the only two fights off them I'm interested in a- may get up for the Canelo fight.
The issue for me isn’t really in the roster being weak (granted it’s not what it was a few years ago) - it’s the lack of shows or the lack of super depth that Eddie was indicating he’d now be able to deliver.

Where’s Callum Smith? Kal Yafai? Joe Cordina? Guys like Okolie and Cash fought 2 months ago - where are their next fights planned in? Where’s Babic? Lerrone Richards? Various others too. They should be being kept active. Richards had a good win in December and nothing at all since. Cheavon Clarke looked great on his debut. Again that was the best part of 2 months ago - no sign of him being out again quickly. Hard to build momentum or profile being inactive.

I quite like the bulk of the fights on the Canelo show. A step up (albeit not a massive one) for Hrgovic and I’m interested to see Montana Love again too.

I like the Taylor/Serrano fight although not enough to get up for it. Also interested in seeing Galal in action and I quite like the Ammo Williams fight too.
Id imagine that all of DAZN's budget has pretty much been spent on Canelo's massive new deal. It seems Eddie would rather have the sport's number 1 fighter at the expense of losing/neglecting most of his stable.

Callum Smith will be off surely providing he still wants to box...? His career hasnt really gone well with Matchroom.

Matchroom have promoted him since he turned over. I’d imagine he’s got in excess of £10m in the bank, he’s had some big fights and won a world title. If that’s not going well then I’m not sure what is!

Granted he was helped out by the WBSS and could have been more active in recent years but I don’t think things have been bad for him.

Both looked a bit weight drained and hit the waterbottle after the scales. I can never understand how people acedently weigh well under. Van heerden weighed a pound and a half light.... Thats 600g of weight he cut that he didnt have to, dosent sound like much, but it all takes its tole, just an absolutely unnecessary mistake.

Just seen SkyBet price boasted Benn to 3-1 to get the win inside 4.
Heerden Is a tough man for sure but Boots hit him for fun and even though Benn is different I think he will jump on van Heerden quickly and I can see a very British stoppage coming up indeed.

That may well be a good shout. My only concern is Benn’s lack of experience against southpaws. Granted Van Heerden isn’t an elite southpaw but it may take Benn a few rounds to get to grips.

Boots caught Van Heerden fairly easily but a fair bit of it, from memory, was from Boots being in the southpaw stance.

Hearn implies in all interviews Van Heerden never lost to Enniss. He forgets to mention if it would have gone on another five minutes he'd have probably ended up in hospital.
