No im not 100% certain, but how did Freddie flintoff get licened by them? You cant licence one and not another, these guys are elite athletes in their field, not just 38 year old joe public that runs a door at the The Golden Lion.
If he hadnt been licenced there would be no reality show and it would not be on sky tv.

I suppose the board must be getting a back handler because why else would they embarrass themselves and the sport in this way.........again
I wish they had enough principles or deep enough pockets to take a step away from this and leave it in the hands of the Luxembourg commission.

If he's in decent shape, has good eyes and no brain damage, then he gets a licence.

Why would Richie Woodhall be involved, come on we all know whos licening him. Sky would not invest in a docu without all this confirmed. There is absolutely no reason why Rio should not be licensed unless hes not medically fit, but if that was the case they wouldnt have informed the media that they were fighting in February.
This is a big event for tv, not a circus on a unlicensed boxing show. Rio will be fighting live on Sky or ppv in February.
Next year the rumour is Rylan Clark will be doing the same.

The problem is that they are only embarrassing themselves to boxing fans who know the score - a relatively small number of people.
This show isn't aimed at them - it is aimed at Ferdinands millions of Twitter and Instagram followers (and the followers of his bird who was on TOWIE) and none of them either know or even give a fook either way.

If rio wants to have one fight he should have an AMA or white collar white a lot of ppl work half there life from being young kids to become a pro and still have to do a ring test
NO WAY should rio get a license cheapens the sport of professional boxing in my eyes - ppl will watch and think that is the standard set in this country! joke.

Tom, regardless of the fight it takes guts to step into a ring and go toe to toe with another guy. Rio is not a boxer he played football for Leeds Utd, and degraded himself by going to Man utd.
Regardless what the fight is, give the guy some credit mate.

If he was licenced hed be on this.Hes not and I dont think heel be fighting in feb as the process for a new applicant takes longer than usual plus hes not even started proper sparring yet. I think that news article is jumping the gun tbh

No license to box professionally, no evidence of sparring, no announced opponent, no promoter coming forward to back up his claims.
Why do I get the feeling this is all going to turn into some giant prank and on April fools day he just says "April fools, I was kidding all along!" Though that might just be wishful thinking that this farce is finally put to rest.

I wouldn't pay, but I would be more inclined to watch that as it would be an honest fight as they have the same (lack of) experience and presumably they would both be trying to win - rather than employing a boxer with the objective of trying to not win.
