What about the Klitschko fight then? That was an absolute war, but still a very highly skilled affair between two elite and highly skilled heavyweights. Josh was in against one of the most dominant fighters of our times, and came out best after a complete barnstormer, one of the very best fights in heavyweight history. If you have forgotten, like many seem to, go watch it again and remind yourself just how good Joshua was that night. The lad has the heart of a champion, and will give Fury one hell of a fight.

Think people just get pissed off with all the hype from Sky and Matchroom and all the drivel spouted by the casuals. He comes across fake to me and i'm not a fan of him away from the ring. He bores me but he's a good fighter and i usually enjoy watching him fight. I think Fury will beat him by late stoppage if his head is right but it's by no means a sure thing as you say... Still can't see it happening till next summer at the earliest though.

Not sure you read my post properly, I was comparing AJ's loss to Ruiz and Wilder's loss to Fury.

Hope you are wrong about the date, but no surprises if it does drag out, such an occurrance is one of boxings biggest flaws.

Its another pick em fight, i just feel, on the back of Furys win over Wilder, many people have gone to sleep on Joshua's chances against Fury, which is crazy.

Joshua is far more skilled than Wilder. His shots are heavy, thuding blows, and i believe his power can seriously trouble Fury. My gut is telling me Joshua KO's him, but i can easily make a case for either winning. Great fight, boxing needs it to happen this summer.

Yeah but we see the difference in mentality between Wilder and Joshua. Both were beaten fighters but one of them showed he had no quit in him while the other looked to have plenty of quit in him at the end. One was laughing in the ring afterward while the other was devastated.

I think Wilder believes his excuses are valid reasons for his beating, which seems completely delusional to us but it shows his mentality is there. I think he can come back and be mentally strong enough to genuinely believe he will starch Fury or Joshua in there.

I also watched the fight with some casuals and they commented on Wilders heart. Joshua failed that test i'm afraid in the first Ruiz fight and I'm not to sure what Wlad was doing letting Joshua off the hook as the finish was there. Wlad is Wlad though, he's probably got the least heart of all I've mentioned above.

Wilder is never going to be mistaken for Monzon in the skills department but in terms of heart I think he has reserved the right to be given credit for having elite heart.

Well even though the key seems to be to put Wilder on the backfoot, few have tried, due to being petrified of getting done themselves. Ortiz had the skill to give it a go on the front foot in patches and got done brutally for his troubles. It took Furys balls, skills and size to do it which was a great achievement. I'd like to see a third fight. Wilder now knows Fury can use bully tactics and push him back so I reckon he would call upon his inner Ricardo Mayorga from the first bell this time and stand his ground and go out swinging. I wouldn't count him out entirely in a rematch but you have to make Fury a huge favourite.

Also, when you think about it, Mayorga was far more skilled than Wilder, which puts things into perspective.

When asked about a potential AJ fight he said Tyson has already proved he is above that level.

That is a terrible attitude to have imo. Whether or not you believe Wilder is better than AJ, beating one is not the same as beating both.

By Big John's logic, every boxer should retire and the sport should cease to be as Fury is the best there will ever be and there is no point in anyone ever even trying to beat or even emulate him.

It is ridiculous. It also worries me immensely, as John definitely has Tyson's ear. It is no coincidence that John was slating Davison after the Wallin fight, then Davison was dumped before Fury's next fight.

I just hope that Tyson ignores his father on this occasion and tries to unify, or at least defend his title.

I thik people post , about heart , toughness , will to win ect ect ,, when they don't fully understand .

Thers touhgness , and an example being Wilder shown it , he kept getting hit by punches that were hard and caused cuts , knocked him down , so we look at it and say a sustained beating , BUT non of them punches were really hard enough to knock the sences out of him ,, thats why you can get a guy who looks like he's getting mudered , but wants to go on ,, hence Wilder .

Then thers a different scenario where a guy is hurt , ala AJ ,, he takes a shot and whoops its la la land , he does'nt know what the hell is going on and fights on instinct , and cops it again , ALA Aj but this guy comes back and wins the rematch easy ,,, just like Fury did .

What i'm getting at is don't write AJ off he got lamped 100% and still fought on Fury got lamped 100 % and got up to win the round , but both punches were different , one was a very concusive punch the other was not .

Wilder well he just took an 80% power beating and was always convinced he could carry on , he'd probably been hit just has hard in the gym just not has often

My take on it.

Wilder was fully fit and took a hell of a beating. He showed guts and should be grateful the towel came in.

Joshuas fitness was not 100%. He was far too musclebound and the conspiracy theories revolving aroud sparring etc DO hold substance. Joshuas decision to 'quit' that night potentially saved his career.
