What an awful state British boxing is in, if these two scrubs are fighting for the British title.
There are like 10 heavies which are past British level, neither of them are prob in the top 10.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 09:08 What an awful state British boxing is in, if these two scrubs are fighting for the British title.
Agree with this. The problem is that the British belt isn't appealing to them. Realistically, any of those who are not, or possibly never have been, world champion, European champion or British champion should be interested in being British champion. Is it unappealing because you'll be mandated a possibly tough opponent? Or because it restricts the possible opponents to being British?Coco wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 12:01There are like 10 heavies which are past British level, neither of them are prob in the top 10.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 09:08 What an awful state British boxing is in, if these two scrubs are fighting for the British title.

It's going to be a horrible fight, TKV is a mauling spoiler, difficult to look good against unless you chin him!keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 14:20 A lot of negativity on here, but I think it's a good matchup and it's on BBC.
They should be fighting for the British belt then. Any of Riakporhe, Okolie, Fury, Itauma fighting each other for it would be solid British level fights. Even David Adeleye I guess--he's a scrub, but he at least beat TKV.Coco wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 12:01There are like 10 heavies which are past British level, neither of them are prob in the top 10.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 09:08 What an awful state British boxing is in, if these two scrubs are fighting for the British title.

He didn't. It was a blatant foul whilst being comprehensively outboxed. He should have been disqualified.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑04 Sep 2025, 23:52They should be fighting for the British belt then. Agree with you there. He was struggling to deal with TKV's ugly style. Ridiculous that it wasn't a disqualification or no contest.mickey1975 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2025, 03:52He didn't. He can take on and beat a number of guys in the Brit top 15, I appreciate that it won't be a lot of money, but they will be good fights, might well make him a household name, which will make him money in the future.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑07 Sep 2025, 14:55 Clarke has gone up in my eyes with that approach as I’m sure Eddie would have signed him if only to spite Ben. I think he stops TKV as his pedigree is good. TKV for me is like a slightly better Nick Webb. And that’s a dig at either man.

A lot of the top 15 guys in Britain are waiting for a big payday that might not ever happen
He might need to get a move on, he is nearly 35 and I believe his speed is not quite what it was in the Am's.Coco wrote: ↑07 Sep 2025, 15:58He can take on and beat a number of guys in the Brit top 15, I appreciate that it won't be a lot of money, but they will be good fights, might well make him a household name, which will make him money in the future.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑07 Sep 2025, 14:55 Clarke has gone up in my eyes with that approach as I’m sure Eddie would have signed him if only to spite Ben. Isn’t Chisora ranked up there?
