To me he’s one of the best prospects in the world. I’d fancy this version of Benn to be a little too much for Brook.
Conor has tremendous ferocity and he’s as fit as they come.
I could see a 115-113 or late stoppage vs Brook.
He could stop van Heerden brutally in a minute and it still wouldn’t be enough for some.
He’s been well managed so far and if he wins well then his next fight needs to be a huge one.
The Ava fight makes all the sense in the world.
Hearn saying that he needs a ticket-seller to put Benn in with.
I think it sells 20k at the 02 easily.
I agree re: the thoughts that Benn is underrated on here. I think part of it is frustration though with talk of a big fight/name and then it’s someone at the tail end of their career.

Eddie is saying he wants a big fight next (granted I’m pretty sure he’s said before) and he needs to deliver one. I think Broner and probably Danny Garcia would do a lot more business than Ava. I have literally never seen Wembley Arena have a lower attendance than when he was headlining last month and I’d imagine their TV viewers reflected that too. Benn/Ava is a great fight for hardcore boxing fans but in reality it wouldn’t mean much outside of that.

It may well still sell out the O2 because it’d be a 50/50 on paper but I think Benn beats and stops him. Kelly was winning the early rounds against Ava but loosing the fight as he throwing hard on every shot, not putting much of a dent into Ava and fatigued quickly due to that and Ava’s pressure. Benn is a much more relaxed, 12 round fighter than Kelly and I think he’d stop Ava in the mid rounds.
hopefully conor's team read that assessment and think 'hell, he's right!' and match him with ava (who i agree he'd beat) or at least someone on a similar level next. enough of these f@cking pillow hands and survival focused dudes

i called benn a future world champ years ago, im not underrating him at all, but ive grown bored of the endless stream of these guys who have no fire of their own
Yeah - I remember you predicting him to be a world champ a long time ago. If Welterweight wasn’t packed with so many top fighters then I’d agree with you.

I didn’t have a problem with Benn’s matchmaking up to this one. I was hoping for a step up to someone with plenty of fire and ambition so it needs to happen after this fight.

I kind of understand them wanting Benn to fight a southpaw given who the top guys in the division are and the fact Benn hasn’t fought one before but the fight doesn’t get people too excited.

he could stop van heerden in a minute and then what, it's just another 'look he stopped him faster than ___' result over a big underdog, like sam vargas and algieri. it's not how he wins it's who he fights.

i rated benn here way before pretty much anyone else did, saying he'd be a world champ and i think he's gotten even better. i also defended the formella fight when ppl slated it. but by this point im fed up that they've still got him on a constant diet of pillow hands dudes that have 0 fire of their own, it's been non stop with these types

if he's as good as you and i think, ffs move on from all the pillow hands survivalists. fight someone with a hint of power and desire who has some momentum of their own. the aversion to guys like that show his team isnt as confident in him as we are. van heerden couldnt crack an egg and hasnt boxed a complete round in 3 years
I’d put him in with Crawford now. I’ve said it before.
Not saying he would win; but even in defeat it’s a fight that sets him up for other huge fights.
I’d personally think he would give Terence a tough night; look how much he struggled with Porter (who I had level before the stoppage),

One thing about Van Heerden is that he's a southpaw, the first Benn has fought amateur or pro, this fight should've happened before Algieri though its a step back

What are you basing your opinion on. Crawford has been there and done it against top tier fighters. Who has benn beat for you to even give him a chance against Crawford. Is this you Nigel?

Am I Nigel Benn? I wish.
It’s boxing, mate. There’s always perceived levels before any fight and upsets can happen.
I’d make TC a 10/1 fave but you can’t rule Benn completely out against any welter.
No way I’m saying I think Benn wins but sometimes you gotta try to find out.
Benn will be a top 10 welter if he wins in decisive manner tonight imo.
I’m also saying a loss to Crawford wouldn’t severely harm Benn; it might release him for the shackles he’s under at the moment with Hearn.
