Good luck to Sean for this one. I remember when he showed off his Commonwealth and WBC International belts at Prenton Park before a playoff semi a couple of years back. No prizes for guessing which one he kept hold of and which one he allowed the mascot to carry...

Always thought when he was going through a purple spell that he warranted bigger fights...eg ebu and maybe eliminators for titles

Particularly the EBU, given that Patera picked it up shortly after Dodd had edged him over 10. Would have been a good rematch back then.

He overachieved as is...a light hitter who had been brutalized by Andy Townsend and really did not have any particular notable natural abilities. Just a hard worker basically. In his last few fights his results came back down to where you'd expect a guy like that to be operating, though fair play for a while he had a nice run...

Sounds harsh, but fair assessment

Actually it is a bit of a compliment in a way that with effort he over achieved and had a really good purple patch in his career that locals will remember
