Re: Anthony Joshua v Luis Ortiz soon to be announced.

Pulev is the mandatory. If they can't agree terms it goes to purse bids is my reading of mandatories. So if the situation goes
We're offering you the fight for this date.
No I don't want that date.
Ok go to purse bids.
Ok.
Right we've won the purse bids fights on for that date you didn't want.
I don't want that date.
Then surely the ibf step in and remove him as mandatory?

Breaking news. Pulev doesnt want the fight in October. Looks now likey AJ v Ortiz.
*BREAKING NEWS*
IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev has REJECTED a fight vs. IBF, WBA 'Super' & IBO heavyweight World champion Anthony Joshua on October 28th.
The fight was set to be held at either the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff or the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Pulev's reason for rejecting the fight was he needs a minimum of 4-5 months to train for the fight. His position as IBF mandatory challenger is now unknown, but he risks the possibility of losing the mandatory position.
It is expected that Joshua will now fight WBA mandatory challenger Luis Ortiz - who he originally planned to fight early in 2018 after the Pulev fight - before the year is out.
Re: Anthony Joshua v Luis Ortiz soon to be announced.
5 months? Take his mandatory off him it's ridiculous.
Re: Anthony Joshua v Luis Ortiz soon to be announced.
When did it become Luis Ortiz instead of Kubrat Pulev? Any info on whether or not this is actually going down?
Joshua vs Ortiz would be WAY more interesting than Joshua vs Pulev.

According to a post I read on another boxing forum on Facebook, a very reliable forum, Ringside Report - The Heart Of boxing its saying that Pulev has declined the fight as he is not prepared and the favourate to be boxing AJ next is Ortiz. Could well be just paper talk or geniune information.gilgamesh wrote:When did it become Luis Ortiz instead of Kubrat Pulev? Any info on whether or not this is actually going down?

I think Pulev should wait in line again, he's the one declining a fair offer, he can now wait for the purse bid or/and defend his own spot, like Povetkin also had to do while Povetkin never declined at all.

JUST START A NEW FUCKING THREAD MAN!!!
Re: Anthony Joshua v Luis Ortiz soon to be announced.
But back on topic.
Bloody poor show from Pulev. Mandatory status should be waved and the IBF should wave AJs mandatory obligations for another cycle after trying to play hard ball with him, just for him to be blatantly fvcked around
Get the Ortiz fight sorted
Then Wilder
Then Parker/Fury winner
Then Whyte
then consider the IBF mandatory if it's still Pulev

If this is true then he needs to be ousted as mandatory.
4-5 months, he has been waiting (apparently) for ages for a title shot. Time waster? Or wanting an easier title shot?
Wilder dosent want to know him, and Parker hasn't even mentioned him. What else is there for him?
Father time is at his door, you would think it is now or never for Pulev?

That's cool if it happens.mimmy123 wrote:'Boxing Worldwide'clopixolacuphase wrote:Where's this coming from, then? A cursory Google doesn't turn up anything.mimmy123 wrote:Well well well.
