47% of the seats were vacant (i.e. no bum cheeks sat on them). Only 43% of the overall seating capacity of the venue were actually “sold”, the remainder were given away for free.

It wasn't quite 50%, for sure, but roughly-speaking, the stadium was half-empty.
Ruthless-RKO wrote: 05 Dec 2019, 12:44There was at least 2 sources saying it was tracking over 300k, maybe reaching 350k, which would make it better than Wilder-Ortiz 2, but as you said, Fox/Showtime haven’t released official figures.
The sources were anonymous though. No one knows anything about the people citing these figures.

I have also provided named sources quoting a 138K figure, but in reality, they might not know the actual figures.

These numbers are all made up. It’s all based rumour or idle gossip. It is not worth arguing about.

There is an obvious trend though, which clearly suggests that Wilder-Ortiz rematch was the worst performing PBC PPV event of 2019. And I tend to believe it, based on Wilder’s previous viewing figures. He's never been as big a draw as some of his stablemates.

I actually feel that some of the 147lb-ers affiliated with the PBC are far more commercially popular than Deontay Wilder. And historically-speaking, the big men were also considered the “biggest” draws, but this no longer appears to be the case for the PBC.

The rest of the card was shite. That didn't help the buy numbers.

Yeh, it’s all he says she says..

Wilder used to generate decent numbers for Showtime, FOX, NBC/CBS.

Can’t say he wasn’t a draw. 1.3m watched the Ortiz first fight. 900k+ watched the Breazeale fight, which to today’s standards is pretty good unfortunately. And that only lasted 3 mins. Maybe outside of 2-3 welterweights, Wilder is the next best draw.

Most big welterweights are only commercially popular when fighting each other.

No one gave a fück when Spence fought Ocampo, or even Peterson.

Historically, Thurman has been a bigger draw than all the WW’s bar Pac-Man.

When Mayweather fought McGregor in the arena literally across the street from the MGM Grand they only sold 13000 tickets with 6000 available. The numbers are reasonably well for this fight.

The MGM supposedly has a deal with Haymon to pay him a massive site fee for major events. This revenue stream has to be factored into the equation.

Wilder is definitely a good draw, though not a huge one. At least, it appears like Errol Spence has been doing more, which surprises me. Errol's a beast but just seems so bland. Pac still did better numbers too. Wilder is prob still a top 2 draw among Americans though and now making those big ass 20m+ paydays, sure a step up on the 1.4m he got for so long

Wilder made it big, it hurts I know
