Money.

They get paid so much that they don't need to fight regularly anymore.

Credit to Joseph Parker for getting out 4 times this year.

Even Joshua got out 3 times this year and that's unheard of for top line guys these days.

I suppose they had no other choice as both were trying to rebuild after big losses, because you can bet if they still held trinkets, they'd be out once, or twice a year tops.

Wilder has lost his hunger because he has shown little desire to get back since losing to Fury in the 3rd fight.

I bet he only took the Parker fight because the Saudis waved a massive cheque in his direction.

I think his future lies in crossover type fights because he looks like he can no longer hang with the big boys.

Right now it’s 50-50… if AJ blasts out wallin, and Parker blasts out wilder it’s still probably a 75-25 fight. Which is more than close enough to warrant given 8 years of build up.

If wilder is conscious he is a chance vs AJ, done or not done.

Sorry Greg, but I stand by the fight not being anything more than one sided.
AJ made an adjustment and boxed for 12 solid rounds with Ruiz barely allowing him to work.
He has better ring IQ than Parker, better height and reach, and has already proved he can be switched on for a 12 round fight.
That bodes very badly for Wilder.
His team have been avoiding Joshua for a very good reason, and so this fight will be a cash out for Wilder if he takes it.

aj-wilder was such a dream match for so long, but wilder gave me serious vibes of being done with boxing the other day

Yes, I think you're right.

I bet it's part of the reason why he never fought Ruiz either.

I always wanted to see that fight, as it intruiged me the most.

Saying that, I can't be criticising Wilder for his lack of ambition, when Ruiz has fought even more infrequently than Wilder has.
