My bank has stopped Primetime from getting my cash! ;-)
Re: My bank has stopped Primetime from getting my cash! ;-)
I don't know about banks in England but in Ireland a bank can't cancel a direct debit without clearance from the company[Primetime]. So I would have to ring Primetime, cancel the direct debit and they would then contact the bank ordering to cancel the DD, it can take 3-5 working days for a DD to be cancelled. Thats where the problem is, Prmetime aren't just going to hand back your money with an apology and a smile, from their point of view you could have seen the fight and then realised that you could chance your arm and try and get your cash back if you know what I mean.

It's not a direct debit, it's a debit card transaction.Wales wrote:Wouldnt that have just bounced your DD and ended up charging you £25 or somethingAnt Evans wrote:I was prepared to shift all my funds from my Lloyds account to my HSBC to make sure I didn't pay...Deno1986 wrote:I don't know about banks in England but in Ireland a bank can't cancel a direct debit without clearance from the company[Primetime]. No you wouldn't, if it is a debit card transaction, and you remove your money, then it just doesn't get paid.DG. wrote:]Ant Evans wrote:I was prepared to shift all my funds from my Lloyds account to my HSBC to make sure I didn't pay...Deno1986 wrote:I don't know about banks in England but in Ireland a bank can't cancel a direct debit without clearance from the company[Primetime]. You are getting confused about debit card payments and 'direct debit' which is something entirely different.
