Eric Armit - a living legend!

I'm always astonished by this Scottish gentleman's dedication to the sport.

For those of you who haven't come across Eric, he used to write for Boxing News for many years...then for me at BBN and now at BoxRec News. And this is just his writing, never mind his other roles in boxing.

Basically, he must do f*ck all else apart from watch boxing, read boxing and talk boxing. I don't think I've ever read a column of his and not learned something.

He currently does two regular gigs for BoxRec News - a weekly global results digest called 'Behind The Results' (Christ knows how long this takes him, never mind how he does it) and an incredibly interesting gossipy feature called 'Snips and Snipes'. I gave up following what the governing bodies did donkey years ago. I despise them all. But it's always good to have more ammunition when someone asks why they are so appalling. Honestly, Eric could write a book on their shenanigans. Blatant scumbags.

Yes, indeed, when I was obsessed by boxing trivia as a sixth former I used to get a lot of my stuff from Eric's 'World Scene'...made him feel a bit old when I confessed that

Yes, his articles are always a great read. Used to love reading them on BBN and continue to do so.

Often I read something, kind of forget about the news, and then wonder "did I dream that" - then I think, if Eric hasn't mentioned it then I did!

Always good to have some snippets of news in one place - and nice to see Boxrec News will cover the world scene in these snippets.

Yes, he also once said he would retire after winning the cruiser and heavy belts, and not even defend them.

Of all the faux pas I've made in my life, this is easily the biggest and most embarassing. I'd even say I'm getting an idea of how that guy felt in the "Worst Date Ever" thread in Other Sports.

I'm glad you see the severity of it. This is probably worse than that guy's date. You may not be dirty on the outside, but you're dirty on the inside.
