I really think the activity level here absolutely slaughters Hamed. Fenech just swarms him, IMO. It's not a good matching for a fella famous for picking his spots, & throwing one punch at a time. A good, stiff, consistent jab is counted among the best ways to trouble a busy fighter, particularly one fond of getting right into your chest. Hamed didn't have it. It's obvious the guy has the power to discourage Fenech, but not the required intensity. This much, & one thing more --- in out-right terms, Fenech was a much better fighter than Hamed ever was.

In short, Australia beats England in sport...again :DD

lets see how u boys go in the world cup! :OhYes:

but i am inclined to agree, i think fenech would be too much for hamed. if u look at the amount of times hamed was dropped u can only imagine what fenech would do to him

Hamed will forever be overrated. Fenech gets the stoppage here.

Not that we need one --- I fancy we've won more than lost with the English, over the years :TU:

That was always the conventional wisdom; that pressure was the key to beating Hamed, yet aggressive fighters were typically who Hamed performed best against. Barrera beat him by suddenly changing his style and taking by surprise a Hamed who'd prepared for a slugger.

Fenech was the better fighter but Hamed wins.

A pressure fighter is not going to beat a puncher like Hamed.

Hamed got lazy and self-indulgent but he was always an electric puncher.

I don't like either of them, but Feneck was an agressive, powerful animal whilest Hamed was a glass chined, cotton woolled, hit and run boxer with no defense but his extraordinary moovement. Fenech by stoppage.

Glass chinned? His reflexes were his defence, which he payed less attention to later on but as a bantam hitting Hamed was like trying to suck a fly out of the air with a straw.
 I knew that would get a bite from one of the Poms, you're right about his reflexes, they where exceptional, and he was an amazing moover, however, every time he got tapped on the chin, he fell over. He got back up but he was getting hit, more often than not , by guys a weight division below him. Doesn't take away from the fact that he was an exciting fighter to watch.

Hamed has exceptional defense, problem is, his lazy in covering up his chin. I feel this fight is like a toss coin, either fighter can win.. i'll give a 55/45 odds for this one, in favor of fenech..

Honestly guys, I find Hamed tiresome and Fenech a warrior but Hamed was one of the hardest punching FWs ever. Few fighters could have come to him and beaten him.

Fenech wins by KO late. I respect Naz' punch but Callejas and Nelson were known for their powerful punches and Fenech walked right through both of them.

Im my opinion Fenech is one of the most toughest, corageous and most mentally strong fighter in the history of the sport.

Fenech was stopped by Nelson. Hamed was a whisker away from being stopped by Kelley

Quite easy? Gimme a break. I'm sure there's not an ounce of nationalism in this post at all

Best respective opponents, Fenech dominated Nelson, while Hamed was embarrassed by Barrera.

Wich one fought the most credable opponents and held the most recognised titles (WBO & IBO doesn't count baby)......? THATS RIGHT, FENECH.

I still like Hamed by ko. Hamed had big league power and Fenech would walk right into him. I'd root for Fenech all night but I'd put my money on Hamed.
(League rules btw)
