Even some casual boxing fans don't really know who he is.

It would make a mockery of the award should he win it.

When has it ever really been about "personality" ?
Didn't Ryan giggs win it last year ?

I think he comes across well and is quite marketable. Anyway, since when has Sports Personality of the Year actually been about personality? The blandest person in the world can win it if they achieve enough

Who gives a toss about an award from a channel that barely has any viewers anymore and don't even show boxing?

It was disgusting when Hatton & Calzaghe did well there other year, when neither had appeared on the channel ever !

They had that buck tooth horse rider win the other year.

Why was it disgusting? Not having a pop, just not sure what you're getting at!

As he's not one of the 10 nominees, no he can't win it.

Should he win, then he could be in the nominees NEXT YEAR - although at 2012 is an Olympic year, probably got a snowballs chance in winning it.

Foolish bet - he aint in the top ten.... only members in the top 10 can win it. Unless you mean for 2012.

I think at odds of 1000/1 - it was probably when the bookies were tipped of the top 10 but not official. Something similar happend to Paul Scholes - who was among the favourites and then moved to massive odds.

What is expensive about the show? I think it should be a pretty cheap show to make.

He does not grab the attention of Fury, Khan or even Harrison because he is not mouthy or cocky enough.
A lot of people hate the cockiness but it also attracts the attention too.
If he wins tonight and he starts putting himself about and talking himself up then yes.
At the moment his personality isnt big (not necessarily a bad thing) but he would need to get more people noticing him rather than just Nottingham and the hard core boxing fans.

I bet Lineker don't come cheap. He's got a tan to maintain, you know.

They should get someone else then. Plenty of people would do the job for free.

The BBC should do everything on the cheap to save the taxpayer money.
