Bernard Taylor v. Chris John.
Bernard Taylor v. Chris John.
Two technicians going at it at feather. I'd be shocked if it doesn't go the distance. Who wins?

Taylor probably isn't the same level. John on points.

I'd go with John in a close fight, but Taylor was very good.polecateddy wrote:Taylor probably isn't the same level. John on points.
Re: Bernard Taylor v. Chris John.
I agree with you, Rov. A lot of people on here didn't see Taylor when he fought. This would have been close. Taylor was very fast and had good skills, but IMO, couldn't beat the best of his era. I wouldn't pick John over prime Pedroza or McGuigan either, so I can't dock Taylor too much for not beating them (not sure Taylor didn't beat Pedroza, but it was an ugly chess match to watch). Taylor was faster than John and would have been a beltholder if he fought todayRover wrote:I'd go with John in a close fight, but Taylor was very good.polecateddy wrote:Taylor probably isn't the same level. He didn't fight most of the top comp of his era.It hurt his development, and Bernard probably stayed in the amateurs too long.
