David Haye v Michael Spinks
Suga Ray Leonard v Floyd Mayweather, Jr
Joe Louis v Lennox Lewis
Marco Huck v Johnny Nelson
Roy Jones, Jr v Andre Ward
Tough call, I'm leaning towards Haye being too slick for spinks. Haye UD.fightfan95 wrote:I made a list the other day and it got a few replies and caused discussions so I've put another list together (and again at their prime)

You haven't seen Johnny 'The Entertainer' Nelson? My friend, you are missing out, I suggest you seek out some of his fights on YouTube and educate yourself pronto. His war with Carlos De Leon would be a great starting point. Don't forget to report back to usNateJR wrote: Tough call, I'm leaning towards Haye being too slick for spinks. Haye UD.
I'll probably be in the minority, but I believe Floyd would win. I see Floyd forcing Leonard to be the aggressor and falling into traps all night. Floyd IMO is the better boxer and would have been too smart to mix it up with the equally as quick and bigger guy in Leonard, I just don't see Leonard being effective against Floy in the middle of the ring, Leonard was a absolute sucker for counter right hands.
I haven't watched enough Louis fights to have a opinion on this fight. What I have seen of him, he was plotter and kind of stuff, not sure how he would have handled the long jab of Lewis.
Huck is fan friendly but very limited.. Not even sure who Nelson is, but I'm sure he'd have what it takes to beat Huck lol.
I have a hard time picking anyone to beat a prime Jones Jr.. Ward is no exception, no one could have handled the unbelievable athleticism odlf a prime Jones Jr..
By the way this auto correct makes posting a bitch.
1) David Haye v Michael Spinks. Spinks by wide UD. Spinks' awkward style would be a puzzle for Hayefightfan95 wrote:I made a list the other day and it got a few replies and caused discussions so I've put another list together (and again at their prime)

Louis beat guys who were bigger than Lewis. Of course they weren't as skilled as Lewis was, but had Lewis ever fought a guy who was as good as Joe Luis? No, nobody of Lewis' opponents was even close to prime Joe Louis. Old washed up Holyfield was Lewis best opponent ever, and Louis was much better than that version of Holyfield in every single component of boxing (power, speed, skills, work rate, stamina) besides chin. Mind here that Holyfield wasn't a giant (he was just 0,5 inches taller than Louis) and being 37 y.o. washed up fighter he gave prime Lewis a hell in the rematch and arguably beat him.stevedoc wrote:fightfan95 wrote:I made a list the other day and it got a few replies and caused discussions so I've put another list together (and again at their prime)

Louis never had any problems against big guys. In fact, Louis' fights against his tallest opponents (guys who were bigger than Lewis) were probably his eaiest ones, while Lewis was knocked out twice by two 6'2'' (same height as Louis) guys who were like 3 classes below Louis. Also 6'1'' old, inactive and overweight Ray Mercer arguably beat him.conty22 wrote:Lewis beats Luis .. Too big and heavy. Lewis is one of the most completed tall fighters ever
Joe Luis was about 210-215lbs lmao. It was a different era. Boxers in old times had much better chin . But their technic and everything was not good at all.Boxing Writer wrote:Louis never had any problems against big guys. Joe Louis would KO Lennox Lewis.
Flash KO? LOL That knock out was as clean and clear as they come. And it was the only Rahman's one punch KO against top-100 opponent in his entire career.conty22 wrote:Joe Luis was about 210-215lbs lmao. It was a different era. Lewis just got a flash ko against Rahman . He was leading on points and he did not get dominated like Tyson against Douglas.
Lewis won rematch with a style.
196 cm 245 lbs Lewis with his long reach would beat 188 cm long Luis.
It was a different in old times.
37 y.o., washed up, well past prime Holyfield gave prime Lennox Lewis a hell in their rematch. He was about the same size as Joe Louis, but didn't have his speed, his work rate, his stamina and his power. And if you think that 235 lbs Rahman hit harder than 215 lbs Louis, I have some questions for you. Who in your opinion hit harder:conty22 wrote:Joe Luis was about 210-215lbs lmao.Boxing Writer wrote:Louis never had any problems against big guys. Not worth debating with him about Lewis as he absolutely hates him. Very impartial for a "boxing writer".conty22 wrote:Joe Luis was about 210-215lbs lmao. It was a different era. Agree with everythingTaki... wrote:Haye and Spinks at cruiser (yes, I know Spinks didn't fight at cruiser) would be closer than HW, either way Haye is too big, too powerful and too fast for Spinks.
PBF would wait 6 years until Leonard was past it then score a boring IVUD.
Louis v Lewis in the modern era, Lewis all the way. Send the big man back to 1941 and have him fight 5, 6, 7 times a year and things would probably be different though.
Johnny Nelson had an abysmal workrate which is why he lost on points so often. Huck UD.
RJJ at his best beats just about everyone at M and SM. RJJ UD.
