What if David Haye fought Tyson Fury in 2014?

Post by OH_RickNMorty »

How would the fight go if two ended up fighting?

For David’s sake, I’ll rule out any injuries before or during the fight.

Who wins this?

Fury with ease why do you think Haye wimped out of fighting him?

Fury would have outboxed him. Could have been a bit similar to Wlad-Haye fight.

Oh yeah, big time. This would certainly pull in good revenue.

I’m not sure whether Fury would be able to K.O Haye, but I still think Haye would rock him in the early rounds or somewhere between R3 — R5.

You have ruled out the most likely scenario; Fury stepping on Haye’s toe.

Yeah, probably.

Jokes aside, who do you think wins and how? :D

An injured shoulder...? David Haye ain’t the guy to go running scared — did you see him in his prime?!

I am certain that there are multiple members of this forum who were not out of primary school at that time.

Ah, I see. Well in that case I’ll just say he was “very good”. Hopefully they’ll believe me over his latest performances against Tony Bellew.

That’s what I like to see! A lot of people thinking Fury would take Haye the full twelve, or even K.O him, which just seems so unlikely.

In 2014 Fury would have utterly flustered Haye. I give David the benefit of the doubt having him last the entire fight. It is far more likely that he would have quit with an injury or Fury beats him down late.

So you’d give him the win because he looks ‘young’?

Any further reasons?

If you would’ve properly read the description of the post you would’ve noticed I wrote, “no injuries before or during the fight”.

 Not really. I actually thought Haye would beat Tyson at the time, I'm backing Tyson in 2018 though. Why? Because I think Tyson would have imposed his style on the fight and Haye wouldn't have had the answer to his size, switch-hitting etc.

:stop: I acknowledged your ridiculous parameters in my first post. That is why I chose Fury UD. I also think that it would be far more likely that Fury would stop Haye than the opposite.

Haye was a walking injury for most of the last decade.

How is it ridiculous that I’m trying to make a fair fight? Haye was already prone to injuries around this time so — almost undoubtedly considering he’d have to spring off to hit Fury — he probably end up damaging his Achilles or other injuries. Simply trying to make a fair fight, or a more entertaining fight, you may say.

 You just answered your own question. It would not have been a fair fight, period.

If you were trying to make it a fair fight with a 2014 Fury, you should have matched him against a circa 2008 Haye. That would make an interesting discussion. :OhYes:

That would have been a terrific fight. I think that Haye would have won a close decision on the strength of a couple of KDs. :TU: He may have touched the canvas himself once though.

Given no injuries for Haye, I'd give him a fair chance of winning a decision over the Gypsy King.
