DAZN officially announced Wednesday morning that Anthony Joshua will make his debut on American soil against Jarrell Miller on June 1 at Madison Square Garden. The unbeaten British superstar will defend his IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against Brooklyn’s Miller in a main event DAZN will stream live from “The Mecca of Boxing” in New York.

The 29-year-old Joshua has fought exclusively in the United Kingdom since the 2012 Olympic gold medalist turned pro five years ago. He has long expressed a desire to fight in the United States, where his rival, WBC champ Deontay Wilder, resides.

“June 1st, I am heading to ‘The Big Apple’ and I plan to embrace the culture and leave with an appetite for more,” Joshua said in a press release issued by DAZN. “I will be fighting Jarrell Miller at the legendary Madison Square Garden. It has been an honor and a blessing to fight at some of the best venues in the world at home, in the UK, not least Wembley Stadium. But the time has come to head across the Atlantic and defend my heavyweight titles in the USA. I am looking forward to taking on another challenge with a good boxer and a brilliant talker. It will be an exciting fight. I will leave nothing to chance and plan on dismantling Miller in style to make my mark.”

Can't wait to see the look on Big Baby's face when he finds out what it's like being in the ring with a good fighter. He can't fight off his back foot; the more output he performs, the more opportunities he creates for AJ. I think he gets pounded into submission in five.

this whole fight is based on 2 things:

1. Can Miller hold a shot?

2. Miller needs to land clean and hurt AJ in the first 2 rounds, otherwise Miller gets pushed back and pounded.

This might well be the first AJ fight I don't bother watching.

This fight was the worst kept secret in boxing.

With Wilder and Fury looking likely to rematch, any opponent they announce for AJ is going to be underwhelming.
But I don't mind the fight.

Miller is a clear level or two below Joshua, but is decent enough to be competetive for a round or two, and looks tough enough to last until the mid rounds at least.

Wilder and Fury likely to rematch. Ortiz still needs a decent win after losing to Wilder. Leaves Whyte, Miller and Pulev. Probably not a great deal between the 3 of them so I don't have too many problems with this fight. I mean, I think Joshua should beat him and look good doing it, but that's probably the case with the other 2 as well.

Wilder-Fury 2, AJ-Miller and Whyte-Breazeale is a better spring/summer than Wilder-Fury 2, AJ-Whyte 2 and Miller and Breazeale sitting out doing nothing I suppose.

Yeah, I'm waiting to see for sure, but that doesn't sound terrible. I'm hoping for a good prospect or two. I'd love to see Brandan Figuerora.

While I don't see this breaking any PPV records, I'd bet interest grows between now and the fight. Miller's size and output makes it somewhat interesting.

I assume they are meaning after the rematch since the first fight was a draw
