Rydell Booker
Rydell Booker
Just noticed Jermaine Franklin is fighting Booker on Saturday. Anyone know why Booker was inactive from 2004 to 2018?

From
His Wikipedia - Shortly after his first professional loss to James Toney,[2] Booker was convicted for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver over 1000 grams. He was sentenced to 12 to 30 years in prison. Under Michigan law, Rydell cannot apply for parole until he has served at least twelve years. Booker said he spends his days working out, watching TV or reading about the legal system, while trying to avoid trouble with other prisoners.[3]

Re: Rydell Booker
It feels like they are gonna use him to give some cred to Franklin. That what my gut tells me.

Re: Rydell Booker
Franklyn said he’s the best HW! Period!!
Re: Rydell Booker
that sort of crap got Miller a title shot, so I guess he's trying it too. I've been following him for a spell, and he doesn't impress.
Re: Rydell Booker
ffs i really need to watch franklin, been meaning to for a while but never did it. his resume is decent for a younger guy yet to eastablish himself but seems small
Re: Rydell Booker
Not a lot of footage out there, unfortunately. He is small and usually a bit 'puffy.' Moves well, but doesn't hit very hard, so it'll be interesting to see how an undersized Franklin makes any moves up the rungs. Booker is a bit of a test for him without presenting too much of a risk. What is he like 3 or 4-0 since coming out of prison?
Re: Rydell Booker
Franklin did nothing to prove he is a fighter on the move or will be in the future. For the first couple of rounds, when Booker was willing to fight, Franklin took a lot of shots and looked ordinary at best the rest of the sleeper of a HW bout. He never had Booker in any kind of trouble and showed no defense or power. No need to track Franklin unless he's put in as fodder for a prospect.

Seems to be the American equivalent of a Dave Allen in terms of talent. Franklin that is.oogiebe wrote: ↑15 Apr 2019, 12:39 Franklin did nothing to prove he is a fighter on the move or will be in the future.
