Foreman gets to him eventually, 8-9 rounds

Norton by decision. Foreman just couldn't put his punches together like he used to. He still had some power (though not like he used to), but that wouldn't be enough. He might hurt Norton, but he wouldn't be able to follow up.
Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
Foreman either knocks him out late after much more of a struggle or loses a decision. He definitely wouldn't have demolished him with ease like he did.

Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
I could see the old George Foreman reverting back to the young George Foreman tactics just to drop Norton back on his butt. It's often understated but sometimes the older George Foreman would incorporate tactics that the young George Foreman did with low blows or kidney punches. I think some men have your number no matter how old they would get. Tough as Evander Holyfield was he always maintains George Foreman hit him the hardest of anyone. So I tend to think eventually George Foreman would have got him it might not have been a two round obliteration but he might have done it in five or eight rounds.

An odd occurrence, but I disagree Tiny. I think George gets him again, only it'll take longer.

Loved the big man's comeback. Think he reached his 2.0 peak vs Holy. That George would've beaten Kenny again. he went downhill fast after that fight.tiny_acres wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 21:16I think the old Foreman is over rated. If it wasn't for an undeserved title shot at Moorer who was a weak champion we wouldn't even be having this conversation

I don't think Michael Moorer was a weak champion or weak heavyweight. But his ego certainly got in the way of himself because he fell into the trap that George Foreman set, and Teddy Atlas was telling him in between rounds what was going on and he refused to listen.
Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
Yeah honestly once he won 8 solid rounds. Which he had done by this point, he could've just kinda went into survival mode, and probably saved his title.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑18 Feb 2023, 22:55 I don't think Michael Moorer was a weak champion or weak heavyweight. But I think we got a better story with him falling into the old man's trap.
We oughta throw Michael Moorer into some mythical fights though, and see who some might think he'd beat.
I could see him doing well against the likes of Floyd Patterson or Ingemar Johansson for instance. I could see him holding his own with a Jersey Joe Walcott. Moorer obviously ain't the all time best Heavyweight, but he's no pushover.

Ken Norton by decision. Big George in the 90s decade was too slow. But had better stamina and hit harder.
I could see Norton's fast left jab as the key of this fight. He would be countering beautifully, but he ain't gonna knock Foreman out. He was too big.
This is a Michael Moorer fight all over again. But this time, Norton is the winner. By a large margin, too.

Norton by a shotout, unless he blinks like Moorer.
Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
Peak Norton to outbox and outpunch the 1990s Foreman on the outside to take a decision under the 15 rounder.

Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
interesting fight..........i tend to agree with tiny that old george often gets overrated. he won the title, but hardly won a round in doing so, barely got past alex steward and was badly busted up in doing it, nearly shutout by morrison, gift vs shultz, etc. not like all these guys were iron chins either. george was game vs vander but well well beaten too
he still had power though, and would be a major threat to catch kenny, but i tend to think prime kenny would have the hustle to stay out of trouble enough and survive any follow up from the older, slower george who didnt put his shots together as well

Re: !990's George Foreman versus Peak Ken Norton
I think it's similar to when Big George had it with Tommy Morrison. I'm not sure if Ken would try to stay away or if he would go to war. If Ken boxed then he would win the decision. No one would want to have a swing up with George at any age.
