Piper-Benn was a good scrap and Nicky's finest hour. As a Benn fan, I remember being worried half way through.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again...Bob Arum before Benn-Barkley "The biggest waste of money in the history of boxing is hiring judges for this fight."
Barkley's sight was pretty fucked though.

Think Arum had his arm around Nigel after, saying "Here's my new Hagler"Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Piper-Benn was a good scrap and Nicky's finest hour. As a Benn fan, I remember being worried half way through.

I'll have to try and tape this one, the Barkley fight is as good a one rounder as you'll see. As usual, Nige is badly hurt before delivering the coup de grace.
The copy I have is right from the first bell - wanted to see the staredown. Benn said he was bricking it before the opening bell...
Nice guy Barkley, really intelligent too. Shame what's happened to him in recent years, begging King for one more fight and all the rest.
