OK;
how about now?
IMO, what needs fixing is the politically motivated appointments of arrogant commissioners by state governors to reciprocate past favors.
Most of them are ignorant of boxing and its traditional record keeping.
IIRC,
In England, where pro boxing was born; this corner retirement would have originally been scored as rtd 3, Time 0:10.
When the bell rang, the referee stands in front of the boxer seated on his stool and counts him out.
(The Brits are so into ceremony.)
Though most of the world follows England;
Record keepers in the U.S.A. changed rtd 3, Time 0:10 to a tko 2, Time 3:00.
The prevalent argument is the fight was terminated after rd 2 and no action took place in rd 3.
I don’t remember when Texas, Illinois & Florida went back to the oncoming rd, but only Florida has the time listed as 0:00;
which makes no sense to me.
Also; to signify that the referee stopped the fight in the heat of battle, the official decision originally was scored as rsf.
This was changed by record keepers in the U.S.A. to a tko. (Technical knockout)
The Ring Record Books 1978 thru 1984 don’t even distinguish between ko and tko, much less corner retirement.
That’s my 2 cents.
