Calzaghe beat Eubank though prime or not.

Toney could of been out of shape sometimes so you never know with either.

Good as Benn was Calzaghe would outbox him.

Tough close fight with Jones in my opinion and only my opinion.

I can't possibly agree with that. Jones was the best of them all, but he didn't spend much time at supermiddle. Toney is a legend, and he would have beaten Benn and Eubank, the guys who were there when he called them out.

Both Benn and Eubank thought Calzaghe was better than them, or so the story goes.

To rank them, I'd say:
Jones
Toney
Calzaghe
Eubank
Benn

If they all fought.... I think Jones would beat them all, with Toney and Calzaghe being not that far behind. If it was straight-out brutality, Benn has it. Eubank trails in my view, but only because he's in a very good line. Chris would beat Lucas and Kessler, if you ask me.

In my opinion Benn was the man, so vicious, a true warrior who could scrap as good as anyone. To be honest, I cannot really seperate Watson / Eubank / Calzaghe. All class.

Didn't Collins retire as soon as Joe became his mandatory? Was a head injury I read though. He beat Eubank too and his defence record.

Jones wasn't at Supermiddle long enough either and the best he fought only was Toney there. Plus it is said he took the path of least resistance too like they said with Joe.

RJJ stays at 168 he never loses a fight in his career, even now.

I will not rate Roy at 168 because he did too little at this weight to count, but h2h Roy would have been tough for Joe. As Joe would have been tough for Roy. It would have been the meeting of the two potentially greatest SMW's in history. Eubank was exciting and unorthodox, but I believe Joe would have tamed Eubank (prime for prime) and have beaten him mercilessly. Roy is kind of a faster version of Eubank (and one of my all time favorites) so I think his speed could trouble Joe more, but Joe is fast himself so this is the best fight that could ever have been made in SMW boxing.

Roy is #1 on pure talent, Calzaghe is #1 on achievement. If Calzaghe would beat Beyer and Kessler that would easily make him #1, and also would show that being a career super middle he'd deserve more consideration. Roy definitely copuldn't have made super middle forever - he was a frigging 180-lb middle with massive biceps! Ottke can't be too far behind, Eubank I hold back for suspect passionless wins, Collins should be ranked high

Wouldn't it have been great if Collins had fought Calzaghe in '97?

What Eubank would have beaten Jones Jr and Toney? Are you saying that Benn was the best of the lot or does his name just happen to come first?

Benn was a fierce competitor, but vulnerable and even at his best had a porous defence. He was very lucky that the ref was so incompetent for the McClellan fight otherwise he would have been stopped in the 1st. I know it's sacriledge to say that, but it's a fact.

Eubank had some close calls against sub par fighters and was terribly lazy on occasion, I wonder how well even a prime Eubank would have coped with Joe's speed and workrate.

Jones Junior would have boxed to a comfortable win over Joe, too fast, too much movement and enough power to keep Joe from trying to swarm him.

Toney, interesting one, Toney usually struggled against counterpunchers and movers, but think Joe would make it difficult, but still favour Toney.

If we are talking about the best fighter at 168, then it's Jones Jr, but if we are talking about the best champ, then I think it has to be Calzaghe.
