Scott Harrison's rumoured opponent.
Scott Harrison's rumoured opponent.
Latest opponent to be rumoured to be fighting Scott Harrison... Is Martin Honorio - who fairly recently upset the highly regarded prospect, Steven Luevano.
Its the stand out result for Honorio - who got KO'd by Abelyan a year and a half back.
He is going to have a significant height advantage over Scott and is a natural Featherweight. Doesn't pack a punch, but looks to be a decent boxer.

Re: Scott Harrison's rumoured opponent.
Sounds crap. With the likes of JMM, Injin Chi and Nicky Cook (who I'd bet would all take it in a second) around I see no reason for Harrison to be matched with a nobody. Hell how about a rematch with Victor Polo?stujones wrote:Latest opponent to be rumoured to be fighting Scott Harrison... The only thing I'm looking forward to now is Takaloo-Magee.

I think he is world class. You don't beat the likes of Chacon, McCullough and Medina without having world class ability.Razor wrote:Ive said for along time Scott Harrison isnt world class. If so fight world class. He cant dig it with the JMM's ect, no way.
I don't blame Harrison for his next opponent. Guzman appeared to be at it but the blame has to lie with Warren.
Inded the level of opponent that Harrison has beaten is way above that of most other featherweights ledgers including JMM. Indeed outside of drawing with Pac-Man and beating Medina, JMM has never really fought anyone.

Why not give the so-called mandatory to the next man down (Jorge Linares) instead of letting Scott off so easily.
Lets not set a precedent for a champ to avoid his mandatory by stalling no matter what the excuse is.

My bad. Indeed he did beat Polo well on points recently. And yes I do notice a win over Sanchez who did beat Larrios way back. Of course many people believe that McCullough beat Larrios in their first fight (I'm not one) which makes Harrison's brutally one sided win over Harrison a few years ago look better.Blue wrote:WayoftheCass wrote:I think he is world class. Juan also KO’d Medina who split two fights with Harrison and he outclassed Victor Polo who was coming off a hometown draw with Harrison. He took the step up Razor’s talking about by beating Gainer and drawing with Pacquiao and his losses to Norwood and John were considered by many as controversial...In short; Harrison’s record pales in comparison.

I didn't mention the Gainer fight because it was so horrible. No where near as horrible as the Norwood loss though which is one of the worst fights if not THE worst world title fight in history.
However with little experience Harrison outclassed Tracy Harris Patterson and Tom 'Boom Boom' Johnson very early in his career and beat a sold champ in Chacon. Yes he did lose the first fight with Medina on a split decision in a big upset but he overpowered him in 11 in the retake.
I don't exactly think Scott's record pales in significance. If it did then Boxrec wouldn't have him ranked so highly.
Indeed Scott would most likely be outboxed by JMM but his power would give him a chance and I believe Scott has a chance against anyone.
As for Linares
Actually Larrios’ win (@122 and Harrison's win (@126 over McCullough has very little to do with the comparison of Scott and Juan. McCullough has done nothing @ 126 to be considered top level.WayoftheCass wrote:My bad. Indeed he did beat Polo well on points recently. As for Linaresbeing a mandatory doesn't cut it with me. Organisation's ratings are generally farcical. He is still a nobody and I have paid a lot of money to go and see him fight. I don't want the credibility of the WBO title held up , for all I care he can throw it in the bin, but I do want to see a competitive fight. Give me Harrison-Chi over Linares any day. Chance would be a fine thing though.
If U are going to use former champs Tracy Harris Patterson and Tom 'Boom Boom' Johnson as examples, I easily can counter with Julio Gervacio & Daniel Jimenez; All 4 were stepping stones past their best and were no longer rated by anybody.
Chacon never beat a top level fighter and his only real big victory over Polo was tainted by the referee who made a bad ruling. Pablo had already been outclassed by Norwood and had split two fights with journeyman Claudio Victor Martinet before he met Scott.
On a comparison of common opponents like Medina and Polo; Marquez wins hands down.
I don't want the credibility of the WBO title held up either. But Linares is the next man in line and more credible than Martin Honorio. What does Harrison have to gain by beating a guy who was KO’d by William Abelyan? My point was that the WBO has mandatories and ratings, yet they don’t follow them.
Scott Harrison has a history of taking advantage of that.

Of course Harrison's world class. He wouldn't be getting ridden so badly about his choice of opponent if he wasn't.
Rightly so too, we all know that somebody's taking the pish.
IMO - He's a solid fight for all of the division's top men but still loses a wide decision to Marquez and a close call to John, gets put to sleep by Guzman in the worst stylistic nightmare imaginable and Chi cuts him to ribbons in a barnburner that ends in a doc stoppage.
Of course Chi may have mellowed into the twighlight of an astonishingly brutal career and John may not like it up him but Guzman and Marquez both dwarf Harrison and his people know it regardless of the recent bluster being put about.
Removing those fighters from the equation, the likes of Honorio become "viable".
Step up a division and Harrison is no longer world class.

Calzaghe will get his hiding in due time just like Alex Arthur... What a great night that was. Hatton will also get his hiding and I will be pulling my cock as I watch him get beaten down like the two bit dog he is!!!Max Molyneux wrote:Blue, Takashi Koshimoto is the WBC champ. :P
Livra, you would agree since you love to rip on British fighters.
Noticed how you don't rip on Calzaghe after Lacy when you were saying you couldn't wait to log in afterwards.

Yes, Calzaghe will get his hiding from Lacy as you predicted. Oh no, hold on, he didn't. Someone else then.lirva33 wrote:Calzaghe will get his hiding in due time just like Alex Arthur... Yes, Hatton will get his hiding. No doubt from Witter, who is on a roll after his sensational performances against Kotelnik and Lynes.
You will go on to make a fortune backing trap 7 at the Monmore bags.
The world will live in peace and harmony for ever and ever.
Tell you what, go back to pulling your cock whilst you watch the other two bit dogs you like.
P.S. Picture below is of Lirva and boxingchat at a karaoke night in Slough. I'm not sure which is which.

I might not know art but i know what i like.
Strange how some Evangelists look like the cast of TerraHawks.
I'm biased (I work for ITV), but if Honorio gets through the early rounds, he's a tough tough hombre. He's like Manuel Medina (the only man to genuinely beat Harrison): slow starting and vulnerable at first; a real handful once he gets into a rhythm.
He's actually a stablemate of Medina's.
Honorio put Abelyan down, by the way.
